The long Vegas summer may be over, but the MSPT is already looking ahead to our next visit to The Venetian. From September 7-9, we’ll return for a $1,100 buy-in, $250,000 GTD Main Event, marking the first-ever MSPT fall event at the venue.
The tournament is a part of The Venetian’s Deepstack Extravaganza III, which will host 32 events with more than $1,200,000 in guaranteed prize pools from September 3-23.
The MSPT Main Event will feature two starting flights beginning with Day 1A at Noon on Friday, September 7 (late registration until 7:30 p.m.). Players will be starting with 20,000 in chips and play 40-minute levels. Day 1B will take place at the same time on Saturday, September 8. The survivors from each flight will return on Sunday, September 11 at Noon to play down to a winner.
“After a successful summer we’re excited to keep the ball rolling by returning to The Venetian for what’s shaping up to be a great tournament,” said MSPT President Bryan Mileski. “With their DeepStack Championship Poker Series, Tommy LaRosa and his crew showed the poker world they’re among the best in the business. We can think of no better partner for a Fall MSPT stop.”
For those looking to get in on the cheap, there will be two $200 NLH Mega Satellites. The first will be on Thursday, September 6 at 7 p.m. (late registration until 9:20 p.m.) and will feature a 10,000 starting stack and 20-minute levels. There will be an identical satellite at the same time on Friday, September 7.
In addition, you may want to stick around as there are several great Deepstack Extravaganza III in the days following the MSPT including a $340 NLH DoubleStack $100K GTD and nightly $200 NLH Bounty tournaments.
For the past two years, in conjunction with The Venetian, we’ve held the Poker Bowl during the NFL Super Bowl. Now, we’re partnering up for another great tournament during the NFL Opening Weekend.
Speaking of the MSPT Poker Bowl, back in February it was Kfir Nahum who topped a field of 827 entrants to win the Poker Bowl II for a six-figure score. In the inaugural tournament the year before that, the 695-entry field came down to Jordan Young and Ankush Mandavia who worked a deal before the former walked away with the title and $117,381 in prize money.
