Day 1c of the Mid-States Poker Tour Golden Gates Main Event attracted 140 entries, which means along with Day 1a's 119 and Day 1b's 180 the total field was brought up to 439. That means a $439,000 Total prize pool was created – more than double the advertised $200,000 guarantee despite the blizzard conditions.

After 14 levels of play, just 29 players advanced from Day 1c with Nathan Hoh and his stack of 286,500 leading the way. That is ahead of Day 1b chip leader Shane Faulk (240,500) and Day 1a chip leader Colin Gordon (234,000).

Others who made it through the Day 1c field were World Series of Poker Millionaire Maker champ Adrian Buckley (214,000), local pro Tyler Corbett (184,000), last year's ninth-place finisher Corey Zedo (133,500); Nebraska farmer Phil Mader (120,500); former MSPT Golden Gates runner-up Jonathan McCray (106,000); and last weekend's MSPT Golden Gates Regional champ Stephen Zipprich (61,500).

Obviously not everyone was so fortunate. Among those to fall on Day 1c were WSOP bracelet winner Nick Kost; former MSPT Golden Gates Regional champ Bobby Sanoubane; Svetlana Martie, who had cashed in six out of seven MSPT events at the property but will now see that fall six out of eight; 2013 MSPT Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells champ Josh Reichard; and circuit regular Travis Northrope.

Day 2 will get underway at 11 a.m. local time on Sunday with the plan of playing all the way down to a winner. Of course we'll be here every step of the way to capture all the action and eliminations, so be sure to check back tomorrow. Until then, goodnight from Black Hawk, Colorado!
