Four-Time Champ Dan Bekavac Seizes Top Spot Once Again, Leads 11 Advancing Players
Created (7/21/2023 2:11:06 AM by Anthony Thompson)

A lengthy day of 15 levels has wrapped up during the MSPT (Mid-States Poker Tour) $1,110 Main Event at Riverside Casino with 11 of 98 entries making it through to Day 2. And one chip count far outdistanced the rest.

After a hard stop was reached in the final minutes of the last level, it was none other than four-time MSPT champion Dan Bekavac who climbed to the top and put a massive 929,000 into his bag to end the night, securing over a third of the chips in play and leading the 11 advancing players by a large margin.

Bekavac started the day on a downward spiral but stuck to his game and went on another late-night elimination spree to bag the top stack yet again at Riverside.

Ending the night behind Bekavac was David Danielson who put 341,000 on his slip to end the night while Greg Asche was the only other player to top the 200k mark (209,000).

Rounding out the top five stacks were Brad Sailor (174,00), and Bret Sampson (165,000), while Joe Bangart (164,000), Randal Bauer (143,000), and Brandon Reyes (87,000) all punched their ticket into Sunday’s Day 2.

All players unable to find a Day 2 birth will have two more opportunities with Day 1b will getting underway at 3.00 p.m. tomorrow Friday, July 21st.
