Kwynn Richards Leads 37 Day 1b Survivors
Created (9/1/2023 11:03:14 PM by Anthony Thompson)

Another full day of action occurred during Day 1b the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) JACK Cleveland $1,110 Main Event with 15 full levels coming to completion.

The second of three flights drew 312 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 536 and with that number, the $500K GTD has already been surpassed with one flight remaining.

Of those 312 entries, 40 players remained when chips went into bags and Kwynn Richards found himself atop the counts with 689,000, good enough for the top overall stack through the two starting flights.

Richards was the only player to bag above 600,000, while Greg Harris (587,000), Ashish Keshri (465,000), Nick Dileno (448,000), and Kevin Steele (431,000) round out the top five stacks.

Much like Day 1a, the final level of the night saw an onslaught of casualties, with players such as John Michalak and Tim Perry among those to be eliminated before play concluded for the night with chips flying all across the five remaining tables in the final level of play that led to a lot of players riding roller coasters with their stack sizes before becoming official for the evening.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five. Paul Cross (334,000), MSPT champ’s Chris Moon (242,000) & Bobby Noel (197,000), Kitkat Klassen (105,00), and four-time MSPT champ Blake Bohn (62,000), are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 25 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

Among those not as lucky at the felt included MSPT Hall of Famer's Pat Steele, Josh Reichard, & Matt Kirby, along with MSPT champ's Chris Meyers, Gerald Cunniff, and Mike ONeill, with at least a few if not all of them likely to be seen back in action for the final flight.

The final starting flight for the Main Event is tomorrow starting at 12:15 p.m. EST.

Everyone who makes Day 2 will return on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. to play for the MSPT $1,110 Main Event Title at JACK Cleveland Casino.

Congratulations to everyone who advanced to Day 2.

We will be back tomorrow for coverage of Day 1c of the Mid-States Poker Tour here on MSPTPoker.com from Cleveland, Ohio!

Henderson Sets Up Opponent for KO
Created (9/1/2023 10:09:26 PM by Anthony Thompson)

A series of preflop raises led to Grant Henderson getting his 150,000 stack in the middle from the cutoff and the hijack called off his 80,000 stack from the button.

Opponent:
Grant Henderson:

Henderson was behind holding the inferior made hand, that was until the dealer showed a pretty lady in the window on the flop giving him a set of queens.

The gave Henderson a sweat as it gave his opponent more outs with a gut shot straight draw, but the completed the board on the river and secured him the elimination.
