MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard Leads 31 Survivors After Day 1B
Created (3/16/2024 2:02:44 AM by Anthony Thompson)

A lengthy day of 15 levels has wrapped up during the MSPT (Mid-States Poker Tour) $1,110 Main Event at Riverside Casino as Day 1b drew 240 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 314, clipping past the $300K GTD with tomorrow’s final flight still to go.

Of those 240 entries, only 31 players remained when chips went into bags, and it was MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard who went on a late-night heater to bag the top stack.

After falling to just above a starting stack in Level 14, Reichard was able to spin up a 653,000 stack, edging out Loren Rice (510,000), and Loki Abboud (500,000) to take the overall chip lead into Day 2 thus far.

Rounding out the top five stacks were Kirby Rogers (470,000), and Jack Armstrong (451,000) while MSPT Hall of Famer Umut Ozturk (407,000) was the only other player to bag north of 400k.

Much like Day 1a, the final levels of the night saw an onslaught of casualties, with players such as MSPT Hall of Famer Aaron Johnson, along with two-time MSPT champ John Sun among those to be eliminated before play concluded for the night with chips flying all across the remaining tables.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five. Mark Lafata (366,000), Jeff Copeland (276,000), WSOP bracelet winner John Reading (219,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup (143,000), and WSOP bracelet winner Brad Jansen (117,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 10 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

The final starting flight will get underway tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 11:40 p.m.).

Make sure to tune in to see who makes it through to Day 2.
