During Season 15 in 2024 we launched our first ever MSPT Icon of the Year competition and in the final event of the season, Umut Ozturk surpassed Josh Reichard to become the first to win MSPT Icon of the Year honors, earning a $10,400 WPT World Championship seat!
This season (Season 16) we will be expanding the list of eligible Icons who have the opportunity to compete for the Icon of the Year title and prize! The 2025 Season 16 Icon of the Year will earn a $10,000 Main Event seat!
To be listed as an Icon for 2025, a player must be established as one of the following: MSPT Hall of Fame, MSPT Player of the Year, or be listed in the Top 20 of the MSPT GOAT List as of 12/31/24. These players will be eligible to compete for the entire season, even in the instance a player falls out of the Top 20 on the GOAT List during the 2025 Calendar year. A player entering the Top 20 GOAT List during the 2025 calendar year will be eligible to compete the following season, should they maintain that position as of 12/31/25.
