It was another all-star shootout in the Land of 10,000 Lakes and after the largest flight of the tournament, Trenton Wilt stood tall as the leader for Day 1C of the MSPT 157 Main Event at Canterbury Park.
Wilt was able to put 364,500 chips in the bag for the flight to just edge out three-time MSPT Main Event winner Matt Kirby who wound up with 359,500 to take second. Xong Lee came in third with 269,000 followed by past MSPT Main Event winner Jeff Petronak in fourth with 246,000. Another former MSPT Main Event winner, Rodger Johnson, rounded out the top five putting away 205,000.
Among the other notables who found their way to Day 2 were MSPT Hall of Famers Rich Alsup (126,500) and Aaron Johnson (69,000) plus Luke Blindert (164,500) and Gennady Shimelfarb (157,000).
Falling short of reaching Sunday were MSPT Hall of Famer Kou Vang along with past MSPT Main Even Champions Jonathan Kim, Mark Wadekamper, Mark Jaroslawski, Jesse Rockowitz, Max Havlish, Josh Meyer, Rob Wazwaz, Muneer Ahmed and Jason Sell. Also missing the cut were WSOP bracelet winner Derek McMaster, Mario Hudson, Alex Winter, Jon Hanner, Mike Schneider, Paul Cross, Alan Ahmann, Erick Wright, Steve Wazwaz, Loki Abboud, Tom Hammers and Bradley Berman.
Day 1C added in another 199 players taking the final total for the tournament up to 472 entries with 25 players making it through the flight. Added in with the 38 players who advanced from the previous two flights, 63 players will be back in action on Day 2 to play for the title.
