Season 17 of the MSPT $1,100 Main Event 316 at the Venetian Resort comes to its conclusion with the final day getting underway at 2:00 p.m.

The six starting flights combined to pull in an incredible 1,495 total entries, generating a mouthwatering $1,435,200 prize pool.

A total of 167 players found a bag across the starting flights, and those lucky enough to do so will return today for Day 2.

Starting the day with the overall chip lead is Peter Walsworth, who went on an absolute tear in yesterday’s Day 1e flight, building a 1,189,000 stack and positioning himself well for a deep run in hopes of securing his first MSPT title.

Others apart of the Milliy club include Fausto Valdez (1,120,000) Christian Sare (1,053,000), and Tigran Mkryan (1,000,000), as they are hot on Walsworth’s tail as each will be looking to make it past him to hoist the title for themselves.

Top Stacks After Day 1 Flights

Many other formidable contenders are left in contention for a shot at the mouth-watering six-figure top prize with MSPT Champ Lee Rzentkowski (639,000), WSOP bracelet winner Mike Wilklow (509,000), Dan Stavila (484,000), Jonah Labranche (456,000), Scott Sisler (434,000), “Wild” Bill Romer (419,000), and Justin Arnwine (376,000) all taking an above-average chip stack into Day 2.

While the players above have positioned themselves well in the final day, others like WSOP bracelet winner Brian Altman (301,000), MSPT Champ Anthony Kastelic (261,000), the MSPT’s top casher DJ Buckley (247,000), MSPT Champ Renmei Liu (164,000), fellow bracelet winner Michael Jukich (164,000), Christie Yau( 133,000), and six-time bracelet winner Brian Hastings (14,000) all have an uphill battle in hopes of hoisting the title for themselves.

Day 2 Outlook

Each of the 167 returning players for Day 2 action will be in the money, with a minimum cash prize of $2,303, however, the $184,865 first-place prize is the ultimate goal the eventual champion will take home, along with the first-ever Venetian Main Event trophy!

Cards will be in the air at 2:00 p.m. local time, with blind levels lasting 40 minutes in length until heads-up play is reached, at which point they will be reduced to 30 minutes.

Day 1a reached the earliest hard stop, so Day 2 will begin at Level 15, with 13:38 remaining at 3,000/6,000/6,000.

On Day 2, at Tournament Directors Discretion, players will have twenty (20) seconds pre-flop and thirty (30) seconds post-flop to act on their hand through the use of a countdown clock.

Based on Day 2 field size, players will receive the following time-extension chips, each worth a 30-second addition to a player’s action: 100+ players: 5-time extension chips + 3 at 27 players remaining.

In the case that time expires for a player with remaining time-extension chips, the player’s countdown clock will automatically extend an additional thirty (30) seconds.

Collection of time-extension chips will take place at the end of the player’s action. If a player’s countdown clock expires and the player does not have any time-extension chips remaining, he/she will be (a) forced to check, if there is no bet pending or (b) fold, if facing a bet or raise.

Shot clocks will be removed at the Final Table
