Bob Heffner Leads The Final Flight Into Day 2 Of the Missouri State Poker Championship
The final flight of The MSPT Missouri State Championship saw a massive turnout of 419 entrants, adding to the already smashed $300,000 prizepool guarantee. 865 players found their way into the tournament, ensuring that 90 players are guaranteed a minimum of $2,182, with all eyes on the massive first place prize of $163,615.
Leading the final 63 from Day 1C is Bob Heffner who ended the day with 440,000. Heffner is no stranger to MSPTs, having played quite a few of them. However, this is the first chip lead bag from the Indiana native, and he looks to put his years of experience to the test in the hopes to take down his first MSPT trophy. He comes into Day 2 with 6th place chips overall.

Also securing a pathway to Day 2 are MSPT regulars David Gutfreund (315,000) Kaleb Dunn (283,000) Kevin Berthelsen (243,000) and Anthony Sedlak (240,000). Each looking to take down the inaugural Missouri State Poker Championship. MSPT champion Keith Heine bagged a stack of 174,000 and will be one of the few coming into tomorrow with the chance to win a second MSPT title.
Players who were unable to make it through the day included MSPT regulars like Brett Reichard, Mike Cordell, Joey McCaig, Jason Crews, Donnie Phan, and former MSPT player of the year’s Aaron Johnson and Josh Reichard. They will have to look elsewhere to add an MSPT trophy to their shiny resumes.
Players in Day 1C played through the entire 15 levels, so the levels will revert to what had happened on Day 1A. Play ended with time left in Level 14 meaning that on Day 2 all players will return with 28:20 left on the clock and blinds returning at 2,000/4,000. After that blinds will resume as normal as they play for the newest spot in the list of MSPT champions.
