Day 1c of the MSPT Season 16 $1,600 Poker Bowl IX at the Venetian Resort attracted more players than the first two flights combined adding another 463 entries, which along with 1a's 166 and 1b’s 263 brought the total field up to 892 entries, blasting past the $1,000,000 guarantee.
The total field generated a $1,271,100 prize pool, and the top 99 players will get paid a minimum of $3,457, while the eventual winner will walk away with a $189,589 first-place prize, along with the MSPT Season 16 Venetian Poker Bowl IX title!
At the end of the third and final flight, just 51 players bagged and tagged with Alex Kim bagging the top stack with 708,000, taking the overall chip lead into Day 2.
Anthony Scarborough
Another player to catch steam throughout the day was South Dakota’s Anthony Scarborough who ended the night an impressive 638,000 stack to put into his bag, and he will bring the second overall stack into Day 2.
Others to bag big included Mark Seif (555,000), Paul Martin (475,000), and Richard Green (461,000), as the rounded out the top five stacks of this flight.

They were joined by 2025 MSPT ICON Kyna England (430,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz (416,000), three-time bracelet winner Ryan Leng (226,000), Ben Palmer (135,000), and MSPT top casher DJ Buckley (50,000).

Among those not as lucky at the felt included MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup, three-time MSPT champ Eric Baldwin, Jamie Kerstetter, WSOP bracelet winner Brad Gafford, Brian Battistone, and MSPT champ Faraz Jaka.

The surviving players from all three flights – of which there are 99 (19 from Day 1a, 29 from 1b, and 51 from 1c) – will return for Day 2 at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow Saturday, February 8th, and will play until seven players remain.
The final seven will then have a day's rest to enjoy Superbowl Sunday and will return to action on Monday, February 10th at Noon, to play down to a winner which will be live streamed in the brand-new streaming studio!
