Day 1c of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) JACK Cleveland $1,110 Main Event attracted another 476 runners, which, along with 1a's 226 and 1b’s 339, brought the field total up to 1,041 entries.
The 1,041 entries set yet another Ohio State record in becoming the first Major poker tournament to break 1,000 entries, and the $1,008,270 prize pool that was generated went down in the history books as well.
At the end of the third and final flight, 57 players bagged and tagged with Tim Caperetta and his stack of 422,000 leading the way.
Others to bag big stacks where Van Tran (376,000), Antonio Ndoja (372,000), Anthony Cico (351,000), and John Michalak (347,000), who round out the top five.
They were joined by MSPT champ’s that include Matthew Davis (327,000), Chance Kornuth (321,000), Abdul Amer (258,00), and MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard (126,000).
Among previous MSPT Main Event champs who fell short one Day 1C included Greg Himmelbrand, Umut Ozturk and Gerald Cunniff.
Day 2 will get underway at 11:15 a.m. local time and play to a winner with 123 players (26 from Day 1a, 40 from 1b, and 57 from 1c) returning to the felt.
The top 108 finishers will get paid at least $2,117 with the eventual winner walking away with a $186,578 first-place prize.
