Ramiro Perez Leads As 18 Survive Day 1B Of MSPT Golden Gates
Created (4/12/2019 11:52:02 PM by Admin System)

The second of three starting flights of the Season 10 MSPT Golden Gates Main Event drew 139 entrants to the felt, but after just over 14 levels of play, only 18 remained, and Ramiro Perez and his 353,000 chip stack leads the way, ahead of Brian Leitch and his 276,000 chip stack from Day 1A. Perez finished fourteenth in this very event last year for $5,459, and will be looking to improve on that with a healthy Day 2 stack.

Other big stacks from Day 1B include Karlus Dobbin (290,000), Al Hart (240,000), Douglas Kaczmarek (235,500), and Kevin Kurtz (191,500). More notables bagging up include last week’s MSPT Golden Gates Regional champ Aaron Frei (169,000), seven-time WSOPC ring winner Vincent Moscati (127,000), Alex Winter (125,000), who managed to bag in his fourth consecutive MSPT Main Event, and is looking for his fourth consecutive MSPT Main Event cash, WSOP Colossus II champ Ben Keeline (119,000), and Jason Vanstrom (89,000).

Not everyone was fortunate enough to find a Day 2 bag in today’s flight, however. Some of those unable to secure a bag include Season 8 MSPT Golden Gates champ Fred Garcia, Kevin “Phwap” Boudreau, Chase Bianchi, Sammy Aweida, Karen Novotny, Tom Bouziden, Greg Geller, and Season 9 MSPT Golden Gates Regional Champ Barry Faecher.

Day 1C, the final starting flight for MSPT Golden Gates, will kick off tomorrow at noon local time. The surviving players from each flight will then return on Sunday at 11 AM to play down to a winner.

The entirety of the Main Event will be live reported here in the blog, while the final table action will also be live streamed worldwide on a 15-minute delay with hole cards and commentary.

Ramiro Perez Surges Past 300k
Created (4/12/2019 11:23:33 PM by Admin System)

Saad Vasquez limped in from UTG, and Ramiro Perez raised to 13,000 on the button. Al Hart called in the big blind, as did Vasquez.

Action checked to Perez on the flop, and he bet 18,500. Hart called and Vasquez folded.

On the turn, Hart checked and Perez bet 37,000. Hart thought for a moment, then folded.

Ramiro Perez - 320,000 (107 bb)
Al Hart - 200,000 (67 bb)

Ramiro Perez Pads His Lead
Created (4/12/2019 11:08:58 PM by Admin System)

Ben Keeline raised to 6,000 from UTG+1, and Aaron Frei three-bet to 18,000 in middle position.

Ramiro Perez woke up with a four-bet to 40,000 from the hijack, and action folded back to Keeline, who quickly folded.

“Fold,” Frei said while tossing face-up on the felt, and Perez took down the pot.

Ramiro Perez - 280,000 (93 bb)
Aaron Frei - 55,000 (18 bb)

Max Chrisp's Four Crazy Eights
Created (4/12/2019 10:53:55 PM by Admin System)
Max Chrisp

A player jammed for 8,500 UTG, and Max Chrisp called in the hijack, as did the big blind.

Chrisp fired 10,000 on the flop after the big blind checked, and a quick fold left Chrisp heads-up with the UTG player.

Chrisp:
Opponent:

Chrisp’s set of eights had his opponent’s pair of jacks in rough shape, and the turn sealed the hand for Chrisp with quad eights, rendering the river moot.

Jay McVeigh

Jay McVeigh raised to 6,000 from UTG, and Saad Vasquez made the call from UTG+1.

McVeigh bet 7,000 when the flop fell, and Vasquez thought for just a moment before calling.

The hit the turn, and McVeigh bet 15,000. That was enough to shake Vasquez, and McVeigh took in the pot.

Saad Vasquez - 116,000 (46 bb)
Jay McVeigh - 84,000 (34 bb)
