Day 1c of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Riverside $1,110 Main Event attracted a massive 411 runners, which along with 1a's 98 and 1b’s 265 brought the total field up to 774 entries, shattering the $300k guarantee.

The massive field generated a $749,280 prize pool, and the top 81 players will get paid a minimum of $2,098, while the eventual winner will walk away with a $149,856 first-place prize, along with the Iowa State Poker Championship trophy.

At the end of the third and final flight, just 49 players bagged and tagged with Ben Pettinger bagging the flights chip lead with 545,000. Pettinger got on a late-night heater to jump Matt Morfitt (499,000), and Bruce Simmons (498,000) for the top spot while Terence Reid (437,000), and Steve Huegerich (391,000) round out the top five stacks.

They were joined by defending champ Michael Berk (387,000), Steve Buell (350,000), Dave Kenniston (326,000), Michael Estes (308,00), and 21’ Riverside champion Timothy Gundrum (304,000).

The surviving players from all three flights – of which there are 91 (11 from Day 1a, 31 from 1b, and 49 from 1c) – will return at 11 a.m. local time on Sunday, July 23rd to play down to a winner.

Ben Pettinger raised under the gun and then called Jason Crews’ three-bet jam from late position.

Crews was at risk needing help, but none came on the runout and he was eliminated from the tournament.

So far, 42 players have punched their ticket into Day 2, and a final group of hopefuls will look to add their names to that list today.

All who make it through until the end of play will return tomorrow, Sunday, July 23rd, at 11 a.m. for Day 2, where the remaining players from all starting flights will combine and play until a winner is declared.

There was four-way action after a flop and action was checked to Terence Reid who fired out 13,000 from the hijack position.

Stann Webb folded his button while Adam Tolander check-jammed for roughly a starting stack from the small blind.

Action was on Dan Dombrowski who released his hand and Reid snap-called.
