The second and final starting flight of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Grand Falls $1,110 buy-in, $200K GTD is in the books.

Day 1b attracted 215 runners during Saturday's action, bringing the grand total to 373 entries (158 from Day 1a; 215 from 1b), generating a $360,310 prize pool.

Another full day of action was played to completion with William Chao able to extend his chip lead to 654,000, leading the 26 advancing players from this flight and good enough for second overall.

Following behind Chao was Bill Romer who was able to end the night with 459,000 while Jay Chaudhary (421,000), Jacob Brouse (407,000), and Scott Sisler (394,000) round out the top five stacks.

Others to punch their tickets to Day 2 were MSPT champ Gerald Cunniff (377,000), Rob Urbatsch (285,000), Loki Abboud (256,000), Phil Mader (225,000), and MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup (159,000).

Day 2 will get underway bright and early at 11:00 a.m. local time and play to a winner with players returning to the felt so make sure to come back and find out who walks away the new MSPT Grand Falls Main Event Champion!

So far, 19 players have punched their ticket into Day 2, and a final group of hopefuls will look to add their names to that list today.

All who make it through until the end of play will return Sunday, April 7th, at 11:00 a.m. for Day 2, where the remaining players from both starting flights will combine and play until a winner is declared.

Action on the table quickly folded to Anthony Scarborough who raised all in for 41,000 from the cutoff and William Chao looked him up from the small blind.

Scarborough was behind looking to connect with either of his two over cards, but neither came on the runout ending hid Main Event.

MSPT hall of Famer Rich Alsup open-jammed 48,000 from early position and Loki Abboud went over the top for 400,000 next to act.

Action folded around to William Chao who decided to call off his 262,000 stack from the small blind, and all three players tabled their hands.

Abboud was ahead holding a pair of kings but a six appeared in the window on the flop with an ace lying underneath.

The turn and river were bricks for Abboud as he sent Chao over the massive double while Alsup collected a healthy triple-up for himself.

Terence Reid raised from the hijack and Phil Mader defended his big blind to see a flop.

Mader check-raised to 25,000 after Reid fired out a 7,000 continuation bet and was called.

The was quickly turned and action was checked to the river.

Mader checked his option one last time only to fold to a 48,000 bet from Reid.

For the second time this season, the MSPT (Mid States Poker Tour) is headed to JACK Cleveland Casino, May 7th - 12th!

A $250 No-Limit Hold'em Ladies Event will award the first trophy of the series starting at 12:15 on Tuesday, May 7th, followed by Event #2: $300 NLH Seniors on Wednesday, May 8th at 11:15 a.m.

A series of $70 and $265 satellites will feed into the $1,110 buy-in MSPT254 Main Event, which requires players to be 21+ to play.

The Main Event, which will offer a $500K GTD, will offer three starting flights with Day 1a beginning at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 9th.

Day 1b will follow at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, May 10th, with the final starting flight beginning at the same time on Saturday, May 11th.

The surviving players from all starting flights will return at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 12th, and play down until a winner is crowned.

Also held that Sunday will be a $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8 tournament beginning at 3:15 p.m.
