Created (12/6/2024 12:25:59 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Day 1a of the MSPT Season 15 $1,110 Main Event at Hollywood Casino has come to a close after seeing 67 entrants kick things off.

Almost a full day of action was played to completion with the hard stop of seven players being reached with 5:44 remaining in Level 14.

The final levels were full of eliminations which saw a family affair end the evening after Brett “Pops” Reichard eliminated MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard on the stone bubble and ended the night as the chip leader with 671,000.

Closing the might second in chips was Brad Heitmeyer, who went on a late-night heater as well cracking Mike Hurley’s pocket aces to take 513,000 into Day 2.

Following behind Heitmeyer was Mark Koeln who put 327,000 in his bag to end the night while Andros Ioakimides (274,000), defending champ Chris Audrain (106,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Aaron Johnson (90,000), and Robert Shallenberger (30,000) were the only others to find a Day 2 berth.

Among those to try and fall on Day 1a included Scott Sisler, Mark Lafata, Anne McClelland, Gregory Wood, and Justin Coliny just to name a few.

Those players as well as any newcomers have two more starting flights to jump back into action.

Day 1b will kick off at 2:00 p.m. local time Friday, December 6th, while the third and final flight, Day 1c, will take place at the same time on Saturday, December 7th.

The surviving players from each flight will then return at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.

Created (12/6/2024 12:07:55 AM by Anthony Thompson)

There was heads-up action between Brett “Pops” Reichard from the button and Andros Ioakimides from the small blind with a completed board showing.

The massive bet would be for majority of Ioakimides’ stack and after some careful thought, he pushed his hand into the muck.

“Show one time?” Ioakimides asked Reichard who responded, “One time,” and proceeded to table before collecting the pot.
