A lengthy day of 14 levels has wrapped up during the inaugural MSPT Season 15 Winter Poker Classic $1,110 Main Event at Hollywood Casino Columbus as Day 1b drew 202 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 317, with tomorrow’s final starting flight still to go.

The hard stop of 21 players was reached with 4:19 remaining at 3,000/5,000/5,000 with Patrick Lacy leading the bunch by a wide margin as he put a whopping 898,000 in his bag to end the night, good enough for the overall top stack thus far.

Sitting behind Lacy was Event #9 winner Connor Burchwell whose 651,000 stack is good for the second overall stack this flight while Anthony McIe (628,000) was the only other player to clip the 600k mark.

Rounding out the top five stacks were Trevor Warren (505,000), and Dan Hummer (498,000), while Jamie Teel (434,000), and MSPT champ Abdul Amer (434,000) were the only other players to bag north of 400k.

Among those not as lucky at the felt included MSPT champ Anthony Hancovsky, Hollywood Casino Columbus Regional champ Aaron Durrani, Ray Ezzie, WSOP bracelet winner Satoshi Tanaka, and MSPT champ Matt Stammen.

Those players, as well as any newcomers, will have one final opportunity to earn a Day 2 berth tomorrow Saturday, December 14^th for Day 1c starting at 12:15 p.m. local time.

The surviving players from each flight will then return at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.

After sitting atop the chip counts for majority of the day, Patrick Lacy was just seen eliminating another player with against to close in on the 900k mark and on the other table, WSOP bracelet winner Billy Kopp lost a race with pocket queens against Connor Burchwell’s Big Slick, starting the hand-for-hand process.

Over the past week, players have been inside Hollywood Casino duking it out for the MSPT Winter Poker Classic in Columbus, Ohio.

In Event #12: $200 No-Limit Hold'em Ultimate Stack, 70 runners took to the tables, and when the dust settled, it was Mariano Pineda who came away with the epic win to take down the lion's share of the prize pool along with the Winter Poker Classic trophy!

WSOP bracelet winner Satoshi Tanaka raised all in for 24,000 from middle position and Troy Jones looked him up from the cutoff.

Tanaka was at risk needing help and found some after the flop gave him more outs with a heart flush draw.

Unfortunately for Tanaka, both the turn and river were bricks, ending his night.

Anne Clifton raised all in for 48,000 from the cutoff and Connor Burchwell called from the button.

It was a race with Clifton holding the lead all the way until the river on the runout as it paired Burchwell’s ace to end her day.

For the first time ever, the MSPT has made its way to Columbus, Ohio for the Season 15 finale, and players have been inside the Hollywood Casino duking it out over the past week for the Winter Poker Classic!

In Event #11: $300 No-Limit Hold'em Tag Team, 198 players took to the field and generated a $31,680 prize pool that was paid out to the top 15 teams.

Among those to cash but fall before the final table were Jacob & Jesse Dodd (10th Place - $6), Steven Reti & Shawn Miller (11th Place - $6), Richard Rossetti & Richard Smetzer (12th Place - $6).

Coming out the top team was Michael Salem & Julia Hayostek who took home the top prize along with the Winter Poker Classic trophies!

With the start of Level 13, registration for Day 1b of the inaugural MSPT Season 15 Winter Poker Classic $1,110 Main Event at Hollywood Casino Columbus is now closed.

A total of 202 entries were recorded in this flight, and along with the 115 entries from Day 1a, the total entries for the tournament are now up to 317 with one flight still to go.

The plan is to play until the hard stop of 11% of the field (22 players) is reached.

Only 12 players advanced from yesterday’s starting flight and the tournament clock reads 48 players remaining with only 22 hopefuls looking to join them on the Day 2 roster as we head into the final levels of play this evening.
