The second day of the MSPT Canadian Poker Championship Main Event drew 138 entries, exceeding yesterday’s Day 1A. The attendance stands at 245 entries so far from the first two starting flights, and there are still two more starting flights to go over the next two days.

Vadym Sienichkin finished the night with the chip lead, bagging 785,000. Sienichkin narrowly surpassed Day 1A’s chip leader Said Jalali, who bagged 744,000. Sienichkin soared to the top of the counts after scoring a double knockout late in the night.

Play ended with 31 minutes and 29 seconds left on Level 16 (4,000/8,000 (8,000)). The clock will start with the same time on the same level for Day 2 unless one of the next two starting flights finishes earlier.

Notable players advancing from today’s starting flight include Pierre-Paul Paulin (464,000), David Guay (460,000) and DJ Buckley (210,000). Buckley holds the record for most Main Event cashes in MSPT history, with tonight marking his 96th cash in an MSPT Main Event.

Not all notables in the field today were fortunate enough to find a bag. Among those who busted today were two-time MSPT Player of the Year Umut Ozturk, Griffin Benger, Eric Afriat, and Adam Cader.

The action continues tomorrow with Day 1c, starting at 11:00 a.m. Stay tuned to MSPTpoker.com for live updates throughout the day straight from the tournament floor!
