Sam Garcia Eliminated in 14th Place ($28,868)
Created (6/9/2017 1:30:57 AM by Admin System)

Sam Garcia

With around 1.2 million already in the pot and a board reading 8d jc 6s 6d, Jake Balisger checked from the small blind and Sam Garcia moved all in from the hijack. Balsiger called off for around 2.8 million and the hands were turned up.

Garcia: ac jh
Balsiger: kc kh

The 9c river was no help to Garcia and he was left with 300,000 after the hand.

Not long after, Balsiger raised to 200,000 from early position and Garcia moved in for 210,000 from the small blind. Wen Zhang called from the big, Balsiger called the additional 10,000, and the flop came down 5h jh 7h. Zhang checked and then folded when Balsiger bet 300,000.

Balsiger: kh kc
Garcia: qd 8h

The 2s left Garcia drawing dead and he was officially eliminated after the meaningless 5c was run out on the river.

Created (6/9/2017 1:11:13 AM by Admin System)

Jeffrey Soffer

Jeffrey Soffer raised to 300,000 from the button only to have Sam Garcia three-bet all in for 1.825 million from the big blind. Soffer thought for a bit before making the call and no doubt regretted it immediately.

Soffer: 9s 9c
Garcia: kh kc

The board ran out js 10c 2s 8d 8s and Soffer was left with a littler over 300,000 after the hand. That disappeared two hands later when he shoved holding the 10h 9h and ran into the Qx Qx of Wen Zhang.

Sam Garcia - 3.9 million
Jeffrey Soffer – Eliminated in 15th place for $28,868

Ricky Guan
Tyler Joyner

Ricky Guan got his stack of 1.9 million all in preflop and found himself at risk and behind Nader Kakhmazov.

Guan: 9d 9c
Kakhmazov: qc qd

Guan was looking for a nine or some other help to stay alive, but he didn’t get it as the board ran out 7s 10h ac 5d 4d.

Meanwhile, Tyler Joyner was eliminated from the other table in unknown action.

Nader Kakhmazov - 6.2 million
Ricky Guan – Eliminated in 17th place for $24,057

Created (6/9/2017 12:57:35 AM by Admin System)

Frankie Flowers

In the last hand of the level, Frankie Flowers moved all in for around 900,000 under the gun and Brayden Gazlay called him from middle position. The rest of the field cleared out and Flowers discovered the bad news.

Flowers: 9d 9c
Gazlay: 10h 10c

Flowers turned to the dealer and asked for a nine, but he was left wanting as the board ran out an unhelpful ac 6d kh 5c jd.

Brayden Gazlay - 2.2 million

"That Was That" for Brett Brucaleri
Created (6/9/2017 12:45:24 AM by Admin System)

Brett Brucaleri

New York Giants fan Brett Brucaleri has been biding his time on the short stack, and he recently jammed under the gun for a tad over 600,000. Sergio Cabrera, who was to his direct left, looked him up and the rest of the players folded.

Brucaleri: 7x 7x
Cabrera: Ax Ax

Brucaleri was looking for a seven from heaven, but none came as the board ran out dry.

“That was that,” Brucaleri said as he was getting paid out.

Brett Brucaleri - Eliminated in 19th place for $19,245

Cristian Castro Bows Out in 20th place
Created (6/9/2017 12:39:24 AM by Admin System)

Cristian Castro

Action folded to Cristian Castro on the button and he moved all in for roughly 725,000. Steve Malone called from the small blind and after the big folded the hands were tabled.

Castro: kc 9d
Malone: kh qs

Castro had a kicker problem and it didn’t get resolved as the board ran out da ac 6c 5s jh to give Malone the win.

Cristian Castro - Eliminated in 20th place for $19,245
Steve Malone - 7.2 million

Shawn Reginald Robert Eliminated in 22nd Place
Created (6/9/2017 12:22:30 AM by Admin System)

Shawn Reginald Roberts

Shawn Reginald Roberts, one of the Midwest’s most fearsome players, moved all in for 510,000 from the hijack and Tyler Joyner, who only had a stack of 610,000, called from the big blind.

Joyner: 3d 3c
Roberts: ac 10h

It was a flip, and while the 8h js kh flop didn’t hit Roberts directly, it did give him a gutshot straight draw.

The 3s meant Roberts needed to make the straight to stay alive, but it wasn’t in the cards as the 2d bricked on the river.

Meanwhile, John Myung was eliminated at an outer table and got the pay jump to 19,245 for finishing in 21st place.

Shawn Reginald Roberts - Eliminated in 22nd place for $16,038
John Myung – Eliminated in 21st place for $19,245

Sam Garcia Scores Double Elimination of Mike Hack and Ingram "Grim" Boykins
Created (6/8/2017 11:55:37 PM by Admin System)

Ingram “Grim” Boykins

Both Ingram “Grim” Boykins and Mike Hack were extremely short and got their stacks all in against Sam Garcia.

Garcia: qd qs
Boykins: as qc
Hack: da 6c

Boykins took the lead on the 8h ah 8c flop, but Garcia managed to hit the case qh on the turn. The 6c river was not the ace Boykins needed and he exited in 24th place while Hack was credited with 25th.

Meanwhile, the last woman in the field, Heidi May, busted on another table. That another woman winning the MSPT Venetian like Angelina Rich did two years ago will have to wait.

Sam Garcia - 2 million
Mike Hack – Eliminated in 25th place for $12,830
Ingram Boykins – Eliminated in 24th place for $16,083
Heidi May – Eliminated in 23rd place for $16,038
