Cervantes Bags The Chip Lead of The Final Ten Of Day 1A
Created (5/5/2023 3:28:01 AM by Liam Gannon)

After nearly 14 levels of full play, the 87 entrants of Day 1A came down to its final 10 players and bagged up for Sunday. With two more flights to follow today, the players who did not find bags will have ample opportunity to play the following two days and find a bag to carve out their place in MSPT history at Sycuan Resort and Casino.

Leading the way is MSPT regular Rudy Cervantes, who ended his day with 491,000. Cervantes went on a late night surge after clashing multiple times with the most of day chip leader Ken Deberry, who went out just short of ending the day. Cervantes is no stranger to deep runs in tournaments. He holds over $500,000 in lifetime earnings from tournaments over the past decade, but a deep run in an MSPT has eluded him so far despite one cash in this January’s Sycuan stop. He will be looking to use his years of experience to navigate to a title to add to his illustrious resume.
