MSPT Champ Mo Nuwwarah Bags Overall Chip Lead After 25 Survive Final Starting Flight of Main Event
Created 8/11/2024 1:27:27 AM CST by Anthony Thompson

The second and final starting flight of the MSPT Season 15 Grand Falls $1,110 buy-in, $200K GTD is in the books.

Day 1b attracted 235 runners during Saturday's action, bringing the grand total to 414 entries (179 from Day 1a; 235 from 1b), generating a $400,080 prize pool.

Another full day of action was played to completion with chips scattering across the tables.

Last night saw MSPT champ and recent bracelet winner Mo Nuwwarah fall on the bubble, only to bounce back and extend his chip lead to 740,000 after bursting the bubble himself in this flight.

The final elimination gave Nuwwarah a sizable lead over the 25 advancing players from this flight and it’s also good enough for overall top stack heading into Day 2.

Following behind Nuwwarah was MSPT champ Dave Gonia who was able to end the night with 579,000 while Tom Hammers (523,000), Daryl Oppelt (465,000), and Kevin McMahon (448,000) round out the top five stacks.

Others to punch their tickets to Day 2 were MSPT champ Justin Lynch (421,000), Shanda Myers (335,000), MSPT champ Jason Sell (330,000), Howard Dion (235,000), Loki Abboud (227,000), and MSPT champ Sean Hinton (172,000).

Day 2 will get underway bright and early at 11:00 a.m. local time and play to a winner with players returning to the felt so make sure to come back and find out who walks away the new MSPT Grand Falls Main Event Champion!

Nuwwarah Connects with River to Burts the Bubble
Created 8/11/2024 1:12:16 AM CST by Anthony Thompson

A player from early position moved their 28,000 stack in the middle and was called by MSPT champ’s Mo Nuwwarah and Sean Hinton from the blinds.

The board was checked to the river where Nuwwarah led out with an uncontested bet.

Nuwwarah tabled for two-pair and it was good as was tossed into the muck bursting the bubble.

Howard Dion raised to 13,000 from middle position only to have the button three-bet jam for 75,000 and Josh Matti go over the top from the big blind.

With action back on Dion, he decided to lay his hand down, and the two players revealed their hands.

Josh Matti:

Matti was ahead holding a pair of kings and faded the runout to eliminate his opponent.
