The players returned from break, and the pace of play went crazy to end things with multiple bustouts in the first five minuets of the level. When the dust settled it was Evan Barnett who held the chip lead with a stack worth 381,000. The only other player above 300,000 was Ricky Mao with holdings worth 326,000. These eight players will join everyone else that advances to Day 2 of the tournament on Tuesday, May 28 with cards getting back in the air at 11:00 am for the final day of play. Flight B starts tomorrow at 11:10 am, with Flight C following on Monday at the same kickoff time. Registration will be open for both flights until the start of Level 9 just before 6:00 pm local time in this $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament with a $500,000 guarantee here at the Venetian Poker Room right next to the Las Vegas Strip.

Ricky Mao paces the field with a stack worth 335,000, and the two other players above 200,000 behind him are Nicholas Wong (243,000), and Evan Barnett (241,000). Just a few more bustouts to got until we reach the final eight and play ends.

Raymond Ho was all in with in the hole from the small blind, and that put him ahead of the held by his opponent in middle position. The final board read for the jack-kicker to more than hold, and Ho doubled up to survive with 46,500.

Jim Collopy (pictured) and Stephen Song both jumped in the tournament before the close of registration tonight for Flight A. We will see if they can run up those starting stacks of 25,000 to a bag and tag later tonight when eight players remain.
