Adam Tolander Bags Top Stack As 50 Players Advance after Day 1C

Day 1c of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Riverside $1,110 Main Event attracted 360 runners, and with the 358 totals from the previous two flights, brought the final number up to 718 entries.

The combined fields generated a $694,960 prize pool, and the top 72 players will get paid a minimum of $2,293 while the eventual winner will walk away with a $142,467 first-place prize.

At the end of the third and final flight, 50 players bagged and tagged with Adam Tolander bagging the top stack of the night with 4310,000, good for second overall.

Others to bag big stacks where MSPT Black Hawk champ Nick Barksdale (417,000) Dave Kenniston (382,000), David Gonia (367,000), and Renato Spahiu (365,000) who rounded out the top five.

They were joined by Mark Lafata (295,000), MSPT champ Max Havlish (239,000), Colden Carlson (237,000), WSOP bracelet winner John Reading (221,000), defending champ Lee Rzentkowski (192,00), and Angela Jordison (161,000).

The surviving players from all three flights – of which there are 92 (12 from Day 1A, 30 from 1B, and 50 from 1C) – will return at 11 a.m. local time on Sunday, March 19th to play down to a winner.

Colden Carlson raised from middle position and action folded to the big blind who defended.

The flop was checked to Colden who continued for 8,000 only to have his opponent check-raise to 20,000.

Colden called, and the turn was checked by both players bringing the river.

Colden called a 20,000 bet from his opponent and tabled to win the pot with top two-pair.

There was heads-up action between David Gonia from early position and Mark Lafata from the hijack with a completed board of showing.

With 40,000 already in the middle, Gonia led out for 35,000 sending Lafata to the puzzle board.

After some careful thought and some friendly table talk, Lafata decided to toss his hand into the muck while showing the .

Action folded to Brett “Pops” Reichard who raised to 10,000 on the button only to have the small blind three-bet jam for 57,000.

After the big blind folded, action was back on Reichard who counted out his chips and put them in the middle for a call.

Reichard made the correct call as he was ahead and the flop gave him top pair while also giving his opponent a Broadway draw.

Luckily for Reichard, he dodged Broadway, as the paired the board on the turn and the river sent his opponent packing.

A player from middle position raised to 7,000 and was called by the hijack, along with Dave Kenniston from the big blind.

The flop came and Kenniston checked to the initial raiser who continued for 11,000.

The hijack called while Kenniston check-raised to 31,000.

The raise prompted all-in bets from both Kenniston’s opponents, and he called having both players covered.
