Wayne Tweeton Bags Half the Chips in Play to Lead the Six Survivors After Day 1A of Main Event
Created (11/1/2024 1:50:18 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Day 1a of the MSPT Riverside $1,110 Main Event is officially in the books with 63 total entries tallied by night's end.

With action needing to play down to 11% of the field, almost 16 full levels were needed to hit that mark.

Once the hard stop was reached with 9:40 remaining at 4,000/8,000/8,000, Wayne Tweeton found himself atop the counts after collecting over half of the 1,890,000 chips in play and ended bagging a massive 987,000 to lead the six advancing players.

Tweeton was able to distance himself from the rest of the pack after he took a massive pot from MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard in one of the final hands of the night while Reichard himself bagged second in chips with 378,000 and is no slouch when it comes to holding one of the top stacks here at Riverside.

During his first two stops he made here earlier in the season, Reichard was able to take a top stack into Day 2 both times, and he will look to top his fifth place finish from March.

Haroldo Perez eliminated Austin Pasker in the final hand of the night to take 332,000 into Day 2, while Matthew Seiter (99,000), Trey Bartlett (66,000), and Logan Hatch (28,000) were the others who punched their ticket into Sunday’s Day 2.

MSPT Champ Lee Rzentkowski

Among those to try and fall on Day 1a were a list of former MSPT champs which included Lee Rzentkowski, Curtis Vierstraete, Steve Federspiel, Craig Trost, and Kenneth Baime, just to name a few.

MSPT Champ Steve Federspiel

Those players, as well as any newcomers, have two more starting flights to jump back into action.

Day 1b will kick off at 2:00 p.m. local time on Friday, November 1st, while Day 1c will take place at the same time on Saturday, November 2nd.

The surviving players from each flight will then return at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.
