Anthony Goska Soars to the Top to Lead 32 Survivors After Day 1B of the MSPT Season 16 Colorado Poker State Championship

A lengthy day of 15 levels has wrapped up during the MSPT Season 16 Colorado Poker State Championship at Bally’s Casino as Day 1b drew 284 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 451, guaranteeing that the $500K GTD will be surpassed with tomorrow’s final flight still to go.

Of those 284 entries, only 32 players remained when chips went into bags, with Anthony Goska going on a late-night heater to take 628,000 into Day 2, which is good enough for second overall thus far.

Finishing the night in a close second was Dylan Meier, who found a gift at the end of the night and received a double to end with 608,000.

2018 Regional champ Barry Faecher sat in the same chair the whole day and collected 442,00 to put in his bag, while Event #6 winner Rich Dixon (403,000) and Taylor Fortini (400,000) rounded out the top five stacks of the flight.

Others who survived the second starting flight included MSPT champ’s Anthony Scarborough (377,000) & Justin Lynch (336,000), Anthony Martinez (331,000), Craig Matsuda (299,000), and James Coca (254,000) as they were just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 19 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 9:10 p.m.).

There was a three-way all-in action preflop between Ryan Cosyns from middle position, Mike Monetti from late position, and Craig Matsuda from the cutoff, with Matsuda having both players covered.

Over the past week, players have been inside Bally's Casino, duking it out for the MSPT Season 16 Colorado Poker State Championship in Black Hawk, Colorado.

In Event #6: $300 NLH Ultimate Stack, 188 ultimate players took to the felt and generated a $46,060 prize pool that was paid out to the top 21 players.

Among those to cash but fall before the final table were Daniel Brewer (10th Place - $874), Hung Nguyen (13th Place - $691), Wayne Covey (16th Place - $599), Stephen Decker (17th Place - $599), and Stacie Newman (19th Place - $553).

Walking away with the ultimate victory was Wyoming native Rich Dixon, who claimed the outright win for $11,974 and his first Gold Card!!
