Created (9/5/2025 2:21:41 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Day 1a of the MSPT Season 16 100 GRAND STACK Series $1,110 Main Event at Sycuan Casino & Resort is officially in the books with 92 total entries tallied during the first flight.

With action needing to play down to 11% of the field, almost full 17 levels were needed to hit that mark, with the hard stop being reached with 23:45 remaining at 20,000/30,000/30,000.

When chips finally went into bags, it was 2025 Sycuan Regional Champ Mo Pourmandi who found himself atop the chip counts after putting a respectable 1,780,000 on his slip to end the night, leading the 11 advancing players.

Bagging closely behind Pourmandi was Josue Aguirre, who found a late-night double with aces to end with 1,550,000, while Joe Asker was the only other to clip the millly mark and will take 1,305,000 into Day 2.

Back-to-Back Player of the Year Umut Ozturk

Janet Burke

The surviving players from each flight will then return at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.
