Almost a full day of action occurred during Day 1B of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Running Aces $1,110 Main Event with the hard stop being reached in Level 15 with 28:06 remaining.

The second of three flights drew 276 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 437, closing in on the $500k guarantee with one flight remaining.

Of those 276 entries, 33 players remained when chips went into bags with MSPT champ Max Havlish bagging the top stack of the night with 442,000.

Havlish was looking good to bag north of 500k but lost a hand late to edge out MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz (404,000) for the top stack.

The top five are rounded out by Jesse Haddeland (324,00), reigning MSPT Running Aces champ Blake Bohn (319,00), and Weston Wells (306,000) who were the only other players to bag north of 300k.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned including newly crowned MSPT Hall of Famer DQ Dan Hendrickson (296,000), three-time MSPT champ Matt Kirby (289,000), DJ Buckley (287,00), and MSPT Hall of Famer’s Kou Vang (216,00), & Jason Seitz (154,000), who add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 18 to have already advanced from Day 1A.

All players who haven't found a Day 2 birth will get one last chance to do so tomorrow for Day 1C starting Noon with late registration and re-entries remaining open through Level 12 (approximately 9:10 p.m.).

Paul Carney open-jammed under the gun for 44,000 and MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz isolated with a 90,000 three-bet from the hijack.

Carney was behind holding the inferior pocket pair and didn’t get any help as the runout ended his night.

Action folded to the cutoff who raised only to have Joseph Bangart three-bet from the small blind. Action folded back to the initial raiser who four-bet jammed the rest of their 52,000 stack and Bangart called after some tanking.

Bangart made the correct call and liked seeing he had his opponent dominated as the runout ended their Day 1B run.

Paul Carney raised from middle position and action folded to Freddy West who defended his big blind to see a flop.

West wasted no time sticking out 85,000 leaving himself just 1,000 behind.

Carney looked back at his cards and thought for a moment before raising all-in for more.

West quickly tossed his last 1,000 chip in the middle and the two players tabled their hands.

West flopped the nuts and faded Carney’s flush draw as the running turn and river secured his double-up.

Max Havlish raised the button only to have Nik Stone three-bet jam for 38,000 from the small blind and Dave Swenson go over the top from the big blind.

Action was back on Havlish who quickly released his hand, and the two players tabled their cards.

Stone was behind holding two live cards but couldn’t find either on the runout as his Day 1B run came to an end.

For the past week, poker players have been at Running Aces Casino in Columbus MN, duking it out for the MSPT's Minnesota State Poker Championship!

In Event #6: $135 NLH Sunrise, 67 runners were tallied through the registration period, generating a $6,700 prize pool that was paid out to the top 7 players.

Coming out the victor was Jason Bender, who had a speedy victory to $2,346 top prize, along with the MSPT trophy!

Event #6 Final Table Results

Last night, Jon Hanner bagged the top stack after the 18 players advanced from a 161-entry field after Day 1A, and players who make it through today will join that group on Sunday, April 2nd for Day 2 at 11 a.m.

Registration for Day 1B is now closed with 276 entries tallied this flight.

The plan is to play through Level 15 unless 12% of the filed (33 players) is reached first with the tournament clock reading 54 players remaining.
