Two-time MSPT Champ Angela Jordison opened under the gun for 700 and found two callers, which included Boshuang Gao from the big blind.

The flop was checked to Jordison, who fired out a 1,100 continuation bet.

Only Gao check-called to see the turn, and action was checked to the river.

Gao then led out with a 2,700 bet, and Jordison looked him up only to fold her hand after he tabled a set of tens to collect the pot.

There was heads-up action after a flop between Mark Lafata from the small blind and Cody Brinn from the big blind.

Lafata check-called a 2,500 bet from Brinn, and the turn was checked to the river. Lafata then moved his remaining 20,000 into the middle, putting Brinn to the test.

After a brief thought, Brinn tossed into the muck, and Lafata showed before collecting the pot.

Welcome to Day 1B of the MSPT Season 17 Riverside $1,110 Main Event!
Created 3/20/2026 11:34:47 AM CST by Anthony Thompson

Day 1b of the MSPT Season 17 $1,110 Main Event at Riverside Casino is set to get underway at 2:00 p.m. local time, and is the second of three starting flights.

Another strong showing is expected today after Day 1a drew 114 total entries with 13 players punching their way into Sunday's Day 2, as the hard stop was reached in Level 14 (3,000/5,000/5,000), with 21:51 remaining.

Michael Cassiday-Maloney

Yesterday’s action saw Michael Cassiday-Maloney go on a late-night heater to bag the chip lead after the first flight, putting a stack of 553,000 into his bag to end the night, and another group of players will try to challenge that mark today.

Jesse Green

Following behind Cassiday-Maloney was Jason Peterson, who sat atop the counts for most of the day to end up with a stack of 420,000, while Jesse Green (324,000), Dalton Jones (290,000), and MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard (271,000) rounded out the top five stacks after the first flight.

MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard

Others who punched their ticket into Sunday’s Day 2 included three-time MSPT Champ Aaron Johnson (263,000), Ramon Ziadeh (250,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Umut Ozturk (219,000), Greg Sessler (219,000), and WSOP bracelet winner Mike Wilklow (113,000).

Day 1B Schedule

The second starting flight will be identical to the first, with each player starting with a 30,000 stack and blinds beginning at 100/200/200.

Levels will increase every 40 minutes throughout each starting flight, and players receive a 10-minute break after the completion of every three levels (two hours of play).

Every player is allowed unlimited re-entry per starting flight, with registration remaining open until the start of Level 13 (approximately 10:40 p.m.)

All Day 1 flights will play until 11% of the field, rounded up, meaning all players who advance to Day 2 will be in the money.

This is a best-stack forward event: If a player qualifies for Day 2 more than once, they may only play the higher chip stack; any lower stack(s) will be removed from play at the start of Day 2 and receive the lowest Day 2 payout.

Player of the Year points will only be awarded for the higher stack. Players will only receive credit for a single MSPT Main Event cash finish.

Those unable to find a bag at the end of today will have one final opportunity tomorrow, Saturday, March 21st, for Day 1c starting at 2:00 p.m.

Once the day is completed, all remaining players will bag up for the night and combine with Day 1a players for Day 2 action on Sunday, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. local time.

A new addition to this season is that each Main Event winner will be awarded a $3,500 seat into the ROCK ‘N’ ROLL POKER OPEN MSPT Championship at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL, while the top 64 World Ranked MSPT Players as of December 2, 2026 will compete in a HEADS UP FREEROLL tournament at the 2026 MSPT Winter Poker Classic at Running Aces Poker Tournaments for $20,000!.
