Day 1c of the MSPT Season 17 $1,110 Ohio Poker State Championship at JACK Cleveland Casino attracted another 302 runners, bringing the field total up to 801 entries.

The massive field generated a $775,470 prize pool, and the top 90 players will get paid a minimum of $2,118, while the eventual winner will walk away with a $151,282 first-place prize, along with the MSPT Season 17 Ohio Poker State Championship!

At the end of the final flight, just 34 players bagged and tagged, with MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard collecting 629,000 chips to end the night, giving himself the second overall stack for Day 2.

Following closely behind Reichard were Jason Cugliari (541,000), and Alec Magdan (522,000), while Joseph Saltanovitz (486,000), and Milton Thomas (464,000), rounded out the top five stacks of the flight.

Others who were able to find a Day 2 berth after the final starting flight included Brett Stevens (430,000), DJ Swartz (368,000). Jacob Bazeley (278,000), Brett “Pops” Reichard (172,000), MSPT Champ Veerab Zakarian (134,000), and 2023 JACK Cleveland Champ Jon Lewis (75,000).

Among those to fall short of a Day 2 berth included two-time MSPT champ Bobby Noel, Bob Heffner, Jamie Allen, Ruslan Zakharchuk, and defending Ohio Poker State Champ Renmei Liu.

Day 2 will get underway at 11:15 a.m. local time and play to a winner with 89 players (21 from Day 1a, 34 from 1b, and 34 from 1c) returning to the felt.

David Evans moved his last 69,000 in the middle from late position, and Brett “Pops” Reichard looked him up from the hijack.

Evans was at risk needing help, and saw an ace in the window on the flop, but a lady was lying underneath, giving “Pops” a set of queens.

The dealer then turned the , leaving Evans drawing dead to the river, while DJ Swartz knocked out another player with a pair of kings to officially burst the bubble.

So far, 55 players have punched their ticket into Day 2, and the final group of 34 hopefuls will look to add their names to that list tonight.

All who make it through to the end of play will return tomorrow, Sunday, February 15th, at 11:15 a.m. for Day 2, with 9:30 remaining in Level 15 (3,000/6,000/6,000), and the remaining players from all starting flights will combine and play until a winner is declared.

Dave Berman raised from the hijack and was called by Milton Thomas from the cutoff before Mike Iacovone squeezed his remaining stack into the middle from the small blind.

Only Berman called, and the two players tabled their hands.

Iacovone was ahead holding a suited ace, that was until the flop fell, giving Berman trip jacks.

The then fell on the turn, providing Iacovone no help, as he was left drawing dead to the river.
