Tye Rogers Leads as 18 Advance from Day 1B of the 2018 MSPT Denver Poker Open at Golden Gates Casino
Created (11/10/2018 12:08:59 AM by Admin System)

The second of three starting flights in the 2018 MSPT Denver Poker Open $1,100 Main Event drew 109 runners, which along with 1A’s 78 brought the current field up to 186 entries with Saturday’s Day 1C still to go.

After nearly 15 levels of play, just 18 players remained with Tye Rogers of Boulder, Colorado and his stack of 350,500 leading the pack. That is a bit ahead of 1A chip leader Bobby Opila, who made it through on Thursday with 330,500.

Others to bag included Richard Monroe (214,000), WSOP bracelet winner John “KasinoKrime” Beauprez (170,000), Minnesota’s Matt Weller (164,500), Danny Gonzalez (46,500), and Matt Nelson (50,000), who freerolled his way into the Main Event via a local Denver poker bar league.

Of course, not everyone was fortunate enough to make it through the night. Among those to try and fall were MSPT Season 9 Golden Gates Regional champ Bobby Faecher, MSPT Hall of Famer Kou Vang, World Series of Poker bracelet winners Adrian Buckley, Mitch Schock Ben Keeline, and Chris Tryba.

Day 1C, the third and final flight, will get underway at Noon local time on Saturday. The surviving players from each flight will then return on Sunday to play down to a winner.

The entirety of the Main Event will be live reported here in the blog, while the final table action will also be live streamed worldwide on a 15-minute delay with hole cards. Bryan Mileski and Ben Valder will be providing commentary for the final table action.

Tye Rogers

Keith Wright limped in from the button, and Tye Rogers limped in from the small blind. Kent Biel checked his option in the big blind, and the trio took to a flop together.

Action checked to Wright, who bet 6,500. Rogers called and Biel folded.

Both players checked the turn, and Rogers checked a third time on the river. Wright bet 13,000, and Rogers called after some thought.

Wright turned over for a pure bluff, and said, “Ooooooh, nice call!” after Rogers flipped over for tens and sevens and the winner.

Dapo Ajayi moved in from the small blind to put Mike Monetti at risk for his last 19,400, and Ajayi obliged him with a call.

Ajayi:

MSPT and Flop the World (FTW) Join Forces to Offer Players Line of Tour Apparel
Created (11/9/2018 11:05:07 PM by Admin System)

Over the seasons, the MSPT has offered a select variety of poker-branded apparel. As the tour continues to expand, we thought Season 9 would be the perfect time to join forces with Minnesota-based Flop the World (FTW) to offer players an expanded line of MSPT-branded t-shirts, hats, and hoodies.

“We’re excited to partner with FTW to greatly expand out MSPT offerings,” said MSPT President Bryan Mileski. “FTW is quickly establishing itself as a premier brand in poker apparel. Their innovative designs and high-quality products ensure that, like the MSPT, it’s a company suited for players.”

You’ll be able to find such items, along with others from FTW wider apparel line, at MSPT stops across the country. For those who simply can’t wait or want a wider variety to choose from, you can now order online at flopthworld.com/mspt.
