The $1,600 buy-in, $3 million Guaranteed MSPT Venetian Main Event attracted 2,472 runners over three flights, and only 329 (63 Day 1A, 119 Day 1B, 147 Day 1C) bagged for Day 2 action. After ten levels of play, just 32 players remain, with China’s Linglin Zeng taking 5,135,000 into the final day of play for the chip lead. Zeng, who seemingly bulldozed her way up the counts around the midway point of the day, never relinquished the lead from that point on to the end of the day, and will be looking to add to the $12,726 all 32 players are guaranteed for making it to Day 3, with $521,448 awaiting the champion.
The rest of the top five includes Jack O’Neill (4,260,000), Javier Zarco (3,675,000), Mike Shin (3,010,000) and Donis Agnelli (3,000,000). Other notables to punch their Day 3 ticket includes Harry Arutyunyan (2,805,000), 2019 WSOP Millionaire Maker final tablist Lokesh Garg (2,485,000), Rudy Sawa (2,415,000), Nikolai Sears (2,290,000), Day 1c chip leader Oleg Eltsov (1,840,000), 2018 WSOPE Main Event champ Jack Sinclair (1,250,000), and Danny Wong (910,000).
252 players were slated to get paid, but that number turned into 253 when Pedro Padilha and TK Miles both busted on the bubble, sending both of them home with a consolation prize of $1,944. Plenty of players walked out with a piece of the prize pool after that, including Day 1a chip leader Ben Diebold (39th - $10,251), Baptiste Chavaillas (48th - $8,837), MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup (56th - $7,777), Wendy Freedman (57th - $7,777), Lily Kiletto (59th - $7,777), two-time WSOP bracelet winner Elio Fox (68th - $7,070), former MSPT Venetian champ Thomas Boivin (74th - $6,363), CSOP founder Matt Stout (81st - $6,363), former WPT champ Darryll Fish (89th - $6,009), Season 9 MSPT JACK Cleveland champ Abdul Amer (98th - $5,656), former WSOP November Niner Dan Ott (105th - $5,302), Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (123rd - $5,302), Felipe Davila (138th - $4,949), former WPT champ Joe Tehan (161st - $4,595), Dan O’Brien (179th - $4,595), “Mad” Marvin Rettenmaier (221st - $3,888), three-time MSPT champ Matt Kirby (242nd - $3,888) and 2014 WSOP Main Event champ Martin Jacobson (249th - $3,888).
Day 3 will kick off at Noon local time on Friday and play down to a winner, with one-hour levels until we’re down to our final two, then thirty-minute levels thereafter. We’ll capture all the action right here on the blog (this event is not Live Streamed) as we play down to a champion!
