1,123 players hit the felt on the final day of the MSPT $3 million Guaranteed, $1,600 Main Event, bringing the total number of entrants to 2,472 (502 on Day 1a, 847 on Day 1b) to take part in this massive event. When the smoke cleared, Russia’s Oleg Eltsov took the gold on the podium, bagging up an impressive 608,000 chips to take to Day 2. That sits just ahead of Day 1a chip leader Ben Diebold and his 596,500 chips, making Eltsov our overall chip leader going into Day 2 action. The rest of the top five includes Matthias De Meulder (527,500), Alexandros Theologis (491,000), Fraser Macintyre (479,500), and Rudy Sawa (453,500).
Others to find a bag include Javier Zarco (347,000), Lily Kiletto (275,000), Ralph Massey (224,000), Season 9 MSPT Venetian champ Kfir Nahum (216,500), Season 10 MSPT Majestic Star champ Mike Shin (215,000), former WPT champ Joe Tehan (212,500), 2018 WSOPE champ Jack Sinclair (201,000), former MSPT champ Mark Wadekamper (124,000), former WPT champ Darryl Fish (119,500), Season 9 MSPT Golden Gates champ Max Young (115,500), Vincent Moscati (76,000), former WPT champs Dylan Linde (75,000) and Ravi Raghavan (74,000), and #5 on the all-time Hendon Mob tournament earnings list David Peters (37,000).
Not everyone managed to bag up during today’s final flight. Some notables unable to make it through to Day 2 include two recent WSOP bracelet winners in Joseph Cheong and Upeshka De Silva, along with fellow bracelet winners Longsheng Tan, Kristen Bicknell, Leif Force and Eric Baldwin, Nick and James Pupillo, last week’s WSOP Millionaire Maker final tablist Josh Reichard, and Rich Dixon.
Day 2 kicks off Thursday at 11 a.m., where the remaining field of 329 (including 63 from Day 1a, 119 from Day 1b) will play ten one-hour levels before bagging and tagging for the night. The money bubble should be reached early in the day, and payout information will be posted in the morning. Day 3 will start at Noon on Friday and play down to a champion.
