Day 1A Chip Leader Mark Wahba

A non-stop day of action here at the JACK Cleveland Casino in Cleveland, Ohio saw some brutal eliminations, classic battles and Ohio’s finest constantly put to the test. When the dust settled, it was Mark Wahba who claimed the Day 1A chip lead in the $300,000 Guaranteed Main Event at Jack Cleveland Casino.

Wahba bagged 388,000 chips to blow away the Day 1A field. Ben-David Boaz also had an outstanding day finishing second with 277,000. Marco Townsend finished just behind him at 269,500. The top five also included local radio personality Michael Trivisonno with 186,000 chips and past MSPT Jack Cleveland Casino Final Tablist Joel Brink with 181,000. Also making the cut was Ed Mogilnicki with 71,000 who has also made a previous final table in this event.

Notables missing out tonight were MSPT Season 8 Player of the Year Chris Meyers, former MSPT Champion Ben Wiora, past MSPT JACK Cleveland Casino Final Tablist Igor Ioffe, MSPT final tablist Derrick Brown along with Clint Shrewsbury and Lauren Schroeder.

The Day 1A flight hit 12% of the field with 10:00 minutes remaining in Level 15. So each remaining flight will draw for their remaining hands at the 20:00 minute mark of Level 15. 14 players advanced from Day 1A out of 119 entries. There are two more starting flights on Friday and Saturday with both starting at noon. Everyone who advances to Day 2 will return to action at 11 AM on Sunday.

From middle position, Joel Brink raised to 10k and was re-raised by Ben-David Boaz out of the big blind. Brink considered his options before going all-in for 66. Boaz made the call.

Anuj Kwarta has put us one elimination from ending the flight early.

Veniamin Leydiker raised to 8,000 and Kwarta followed by re-raising to 21,000. Leydiker went over the top going all-in for 95,000 and Kwarta quickly made the call. Leydiker turned over and saw the bad news that Kwarta was holding . It was all over but the shouting as the board ran out to finish off Leydiker. The hand took Kwarta up to 190,000 chips (47 bb).

One more elimination will take the field down to 12% remaining - 14 players - so we’ll see if we reach the last player down or get to the end of Level 15 first. No matter what, it’s going to be an exciting finish here in Cleveland in Day 1A.

The action started with a limp by Bill Napier from UTG+1 followed by calls from Michael Trivisonno in the cut-off, Nicholas Coulson on the button, and Matt Radcliffe from the small blind. Veniamin Leydiker checked and we saw the flop.

Flop: - Actiono checked to Trivisonno who bet 5,500. He was called by Coulson and Napier.

River: - Napier opened to 16,000. Trivisonno called and Coulson folded.
