Don't Blink
Created (9/14/2019 10:16:57 PM by Admin System)

It’s getting crazy out there as we dive into the final level of the night.

First, Adam Tolander managed to have his crack the of Nao Yang. The board ran out to keep Tolander in the tournament and move him up to 158,000.

Next, Xong Lee managed to entice a 35,000 chip bet out of Brett Johnson on a board with Lee holding . Johnson folded to moving Lee up to 260,000.

Finally, it was all she wrote for Vlad Tkachuk who went all-in with his 73,000 chip stack holding against the of Jeff Petronack. The board ran out to send Tkachuk to the rail.

25 players remain as we head into the closing hands of the night.

Peterson's Trips Lose to Kirby's Straight
Created (9/14/2019 10:05:09 PM by Admin System)

David Peterson has been removed from Day 1C by Matt Kirby. The two men went: raise to 6,500 from Peterson in the cutoff, reraise from the button to 15,000 from Kirby, all in for about 50,000, and a call.

Peterson: kk
Kirby:

The runout was anything but boring, with on the flop and a on the turn spicing things up. The river did not solve any of Petersons issues, and he heads for the exit. Kirby, meanwhile, grows his stack past 330,000.

Sherry Hammers

From UTG+2 Sherry Hammers opened to 6k and was re-raised by Vlad Tkachuk to 21k from the button. After the blinds folded, Hammers raised all-in for 70k. Tkachuk took his time and ultimately made the call.

Hammers tabled and was in good shape against the of Tkachuk. The board stayed clean giving Hammers a nice double at the end of the night.

Rumor has it, the last longer between Sherry & Tom was doing dishes for a week; get that towel ready Tom!

Hammers now has 145k (48 bb).

Barb Blechinger

From under-the-gun, Matt Mlsna opened to 6,500 and was called by Tom Hammers two spots behind. From the cut-off Barb Blechinger re-raised to 25,000. Mlsna stepped aside but Hammers went all-in for about 40,000 total; Blechinger made the call quickly revealing her . Hammers said, “I have an over” as he tabled .

Hammers got a little help on the flop but never could catch up as the board ran out . Hammers was eliminated while Blechinger added important chips to her growing stack as she prepares to make a deep run on Sunday. Blechinger currently stands at 185,000 (62 bb).

Boat-over-Boat for Alsup, Carney Out
Created (9/14/2019 9:31:59 PM by Admin System)

A huge hand at Table 4 saw MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup take out Paul Carney. Earlier in the day Carney just wanted to make an appearance on the blog… but I can guarantee he would have preferred for it to not happen like this.

Alsup in the cutoff, Carney in the small blind, and MSPT champion Rodger Johnson in the big blind went to a flop for 6,000, thanks to Alsup’s preflop raise.

Carney and Johnson checked to the preflop raiser Alsup, who wagered 6,500. Carney and Johnson both called.

Both of the blinds checked again, and this time Alsup bet 17,000. This time only Carney called, as Johnson bowed out.

After pondering his next move for a moment, Carney moved all in for his last 27,000. Alsup quickly called.

Alsup:
Carney:

Both players runner-runnered full houses, but it was Alsup who comes out on top.

Despite having 0.3% to win on the flop and still only 4.5% to win by the turn, it was the MSPT Hall of Famer who emerged victorious. An apoplectic Carney could not believe his poor luck, and headed for the exit. Alsup, always the cool customer, collected the chips and now has about 180,000.

Johnson All Aces
Created (9/14/2019 9:31:48 PM by Admin System)

Brett Johnson got the right cards at the right time.

After a 15,000 chip bet from Barb Blechinger, Johnson moved all-in for 53,000 and Blechinger made the call. Blechinger showed but Johnson had found for the lead. The flop came out now making Blechinger root for an ace for a straight instead of one her remaining kings. But the board ran out and Johnson doubled up moving to 119,500 (40 bb).

We’re down to 31 players left as the action continues in Day 1C.

Created (9/14/2019 9:29:00 PM by Admin System)

Azimdzhon Ishanov

Joined the action on Table 3 with two players new to this feature table mixing it up. On a flop of Trenton Wilt bet 10,000 into a pot of about 20,000; he was called by Azimdzhon Ishanov.

On the turn, it was checked to Ishanov who bet 8,000 and was check-raised to 21,500; Ishanov made the call.

When the river came , Wilt bet 36,000; Ishanov shook his head a bit before making the call with , picking off the bluff from Wilt who held .

The pot brought Ishanov to 230k (77 bb)

Yes Maas
Created (9/14/2019 9:13:15 PM by Admin System)

As we near the end of Day 1C, it’s now about positioning for Sunday and Joe Maas is working his way up the leaderboard.

After he and Rich Alsup contributed 7,000 chips on a board, the hit the turn and Maas checked to Alsup. Alsup bet out 15,000 but Maas turned right around with a 35,000 chip raise. Alsup thought better of playing on and folded. Following the hand, their table broke but Maas will be taking his 217,000 chips with him as the field has already whittled down to 35 players remaining.
