MSPT champ Kfir Nahum Takes Overall Chip Lead into Day 2 After 18 Players Survive Day 1B

The second and final starting flight of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Venetian $1,100 Main Event has come to an end after 11 hours of action.

Day 1b attracted 161 runners during Thursday's action, bringing the grand total to 268 entries (107 from Day 1a; 161 from 1b).

Once the field was reduced to 11%, it was MSPT champ Kfir Nahum who was able to maintain his chip lead throughout the night to take the overall chip lead into the final day with 688,000.

Following hot behind Nahum is Brian Battistone who was able to end the night sending two-time WSOP bracelet winner Michael Wang home on the bubble for the second night in a row, and will take the second top satck into Day 2 with 605,000.

Rounding out the top five stacks of the night were Jameson Voll (421,000), Vincent Moscati (280,000), and Christina ”Baby Shark” Gollins (277,000).

They were joined by the likes of Rommel Liscano (184,000), Viacheslav Fentisov (165,00), Maxx Coleman (144,000), Aditya Prasetyo (144,000), and defending champ Matthew Schulte (93,000).

Day 2 will get underway bright and early at 11:00 a.m. local time and play to a winner with 30 players returning to the felt so make sure to come back and find out who walks away the new MSPT Venetian $1,100 Main Event champion!

Wang Bubbles Again, Straightened Out by Battistone

Brian Battistone raised under the gun and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Michael Wang called from the small blind to see a flop.

Wang led out for 55,000 and Battistone raised to 140,000. Wang quickly fired back with a three-bet jam and Battistone snap-called.

It was a cooler situation for Wang as his two pair was out flopped by Battistone holding the nut straight, and the turn followed by the river eliminated him on the bubble for the second night in a row.

Nahum Drops One, Hand-for-Hand Process Begins

MSPT champ Kfir Nahum raised to 12,000 from middle position and then called the button’s 75,000 three-bet jam.

Nahum was ahead holding a made hand of kings and the runout eliminated his opponent, leavening 19 players remaining as the hand-for-hand process as begun.

James Nicholas raised from the hijack and then called Stanley Lee’s three-bet jam from the big blind.

Lee was dominated but saw a jack in the window on the flop putting him in the lead.

Unfortunately for Lee, that was the only good news he was going to get, as the turn gave Nichaolas a Broadway draw, and the river gave Nichaolas top pair to eliminate Lee.

Moscati Flushes One Out the Door

Aditya Prasetyo opened for 9,000 from the cutoff only to have Vincent Moscati three-bet to 25,000 from the button and the small blind four-bet all in for 50,000.

Action folded back to Prasetyo who followed suit while Moscati called.

Moscati was dominated and the flop didn’t change a thing.

The turn, however, fell the giving Moscati the nut flush draw which was completed with the k on the river, eliminating his opponent.

Lenard Adams raised to 10,000 from middle position only to have Kfir Nahum three-bet to 25,000 directly to his left.

The button called, as did Adams, and the three took to a flop.

Action was checked to Nahum who continued for 25,000 and the button quickly mucked their hand while Adams called off his remaining stack.

James Nicholas limped-in from the hijack only to have Stephen Rivera raise to 13,000 from the small blind.

Action was on John Morgan who called from the big blind and Nicholas called as well taking action three-ways to a flop.

Both Rivera and Morgan check-called a 17,000 bet from Nicholas, bringing about the turn.

Action was checked once again to Nicholas who fired out a 22,000 and Rivera quickly released his hand while Morgan jammed for his last 33,000.

Nicholas called, and the two hands were revealed.
