Lendvai Tops The Counts Into Day 2 Of The $1,100 Main Event

After two days of registration, The MSPT $1,100 Main Event at Venetian has secured its final field of 30 players for the second day of play. A total of 274 entrants bested the $200,000 prizepool guarantee and will see a total of $55,261 awarded to the first place finisher.

Leading the way is Hungary’s Tamas Lendvai, who ended his day with 924,000. The Las Vegas tournament regular has amassed over $2,611,679 in live earnings, with his biggest score being a third place finish in an EPT in 2011 for $816,326. More recently he won his first WSOP bracelet in 2022 for $299,464 and with this bag here today, he looks to add another trophy to his decorated resume.

Others who bagged included were MSPT newcomer Tjam Tepeh (872,000), the always entertaining Hayley “VegasHalys” Hanna (149,000), Ivan Ruban (149,000), Ryan Laplante (83,000), Nicholas Pupillo (66,000), and five-time MSPT champion Blake Bohn (26,000). Each one of them looking for a fine trophy from The Venetian Casino.

Former MSPT champions Kyna England and Rodger Johnson were unable to find bags today and the current MSPT Player of The Year frontrunner Umut Ozturk, also found himself out the door earlier than he wanted. Others who didn’t find bags included John Morgan, Dylan Linde, and Camille Brown. They will have to play tomorrow’s separate tournament if they want to become an MSPT Venetian champion before the year’s end.

Play ended at the very beginning of Level 16, with blinds at 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante. Blinds will go up every 40 minutes with players having a break every three levels. Erik Nomberg moved all in for 12,000 total and was called by six players.

The flop of saw action check to Tyler Willse who bet 12,000 which only Nicholas Pupillo called.

Once Willse bet again on the turn, Pupillo folded and the hands were turned up.

Pupillo Doubles Twice

Nicholas Pupillo started hand for hand play as by far and away the short stack, but found himself on the right side of two all in and call situations.

The first one saw a player jam all in from the hijack and in the big blind, Nicholas Pupillo called for his las 29,000.

The board ran out and Pupillo paired up his kicker on the river to beat his opponent’s pair of queens and he survived.

The following orbit a player moved all in from late position and Pupillo called for his last 49,000 in the big blind.

Philip Shing moved all in for his last 36,000 from middle position and action folded around to Tamas Lendvai in the big blind who called.

Tjam Tepeh raised to 8,000 on the cutoff which saw Christina “BabyShark” Gollins move all in for 61,000 which saw all other players fold and Tepeh call.

Lendvai Knocks Out Two

Tamas Lendvai raised to 10,000 in first position which saw a player in the small blind call and in the big blind, Michael Rossitto three bet to 40,000 which saw both Lendvai and the small blind call.

The flop of saw the small blind move all in for 45,000 which both Rossitto and Lendvai call.

On the turn, Rossitto moved all in for 130,000 and Lendvai snap called.

The river was the wrong paint for Rossitto and his kings could not best the set of queens that Lendvai held as Lendvai took a massive chip lead in the field.

Philip Shing raised to 6,000 in early position which saw one player call and on the button, Tamas Lendvai three bet to 21,000 which saw Shing move all in. Action folded back around to Lendvai who called for 138,000 effective asking if Shing had aces.

The flop came out and action checked to Laplante who bet 8,000 which the big blind called. Gollins moved all in and Laplante called for 75,000 effective which saw the big blind fold.
