Joseph Sanfeliu Takes Overall Chip Lead into Day 2

The second and final starting flight of the MSPT (Mid States Poker Tour) $1,100 Myster Bounty at The Venetian Las Vegas has come to an end after 11 hours of action.

Day 1b attracted 211 runners during Wednesday's action, bringing the grand total to 318 entries (107 from Day 1a; 211 from 1b).

Once the field was reduced to 11%, it was Joseph Sanfeliu who was able to maintain the top stack throughout the night to take the overall chip lead into the final day with 629,000.

Following behind Sanfeliu was Craig Mason who was able to end the night sending WSOP bracelet winner Dylan Linde home just before the bubble in a kings vs queens hand and will take the second top stack into Day 2 with 523,000.

Bagging just behind Mason was Sean Berman (520,000) who burst the bubble when he flopped a set of jacks against three-time MSPT champ Eric Baldwin.

Rounding out the top five stacks of the night were Ronnie Lamb (405,000), & Salameh Bahhur (373,000), while Kevin Stevens (341,000), Jack Corrigan (292,000), and two-time bracelet winner David Jackson ((252,000), all found a Day 2 berth.

Day 2 will get underway bright and early at 11:00 a.m. local time and play to a winner with 36 players returning to the felt so make sure to come back and find out who walks away the new MSPT Venetian $1,100 Mystery Bounty Poker Bowl Champion!

Three Time MSPT Champ Eric Baldwin Bubbles Mystery Bounty

Three-time MSPT champ Eric Baldwin was all in preflop for 77,000 from the big blind and was called by Sean Berman from middle position.

Baldwin was behind holding the inferior pocket pair and things got worse after the flop gave Berman a set of jacks.

The turn however, fell the giving Baldwin a little hope as the case eight would keep his tournament alive.

Unfortunately for Baldwin, the completed the board on the river and eliminated him on the bubble.

Bracelet winner Dylan Linde was all in preflop from the cutoff and was called by Craig Mason from the hijack.

It was a cooler situation for Linde as he rolled over a premium made hand only to see Mason was holding a better one and the runout eliminated him for the tournament.

Action on the table folded to the button who raised all in for 45,000 and Michael Helander went over the top from the small blind giving them isolation.

Helander was behind holding suite live cards until the flop fell giving him top pair with the heart flush draw.

The turn improved Helander to trip jacks and he faded a nine on the river as the that completed the board eliminated his opponent.

John Morgan opened for 11,000 from the cutoff and found two callers bringing about a flop.

Action was checked to the button who fired out a 10,000 bet and only Morgan check-called to see the pair the board on the turn.

This time, Morgan check-jammed for 65,000 after his opponent continued for 17,000 and took down the pot after a clock was called.

Kristen Deardorff open-jammed 28,000 under the gun and Joseph Sanfeliu called from the button before MSPT Hall of Famer Dan “DQ” Hendrickson went over the top for 51,000 from the big blind.

Action was back on Sanfeliu who called, and all three players tabled their hands.
