The MSPT (Mid-States Poker Tour) traveled back home to host the Season 15 Minnesota State Poker Championship at Running Aces Casino & Racetrack!
Kicking off the 16-trophy event series was Event #1: $360 NLH Regional, which saw a turnout of 1,006 entries logged over three starting days.
A $300,300 prize pool was generated and dived out between the 108 Day 2 players who had their eyes set on the title.
After a ten-hour day on the felt, it was Minnesota native Arlo Strozewski who navigated his way to the finish line to capture a $55,556 first-place prize!
Strozewski came into the final day fifth in chips after bagging the Day 1b chip lead, and steadily grew the top stack that sat atop the final table of nine.
From there, he continued his assault which led to him holding a sizable chip lead in the heads-up battle against Bee Yang which lasted until Yang got his remaining stack in the middle after a flop holding and Strozewski called holding .
The turn was safe for Yang, but the fell on the river giving Strozewski a better pair to secure his victory.
