Ray Ezzie Bags Heaps to Lead the 37 Advancing Day 1B Players
Created (8/17/2024 1:19:30 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Another full day of action occurred during Day 1b the MSPT Season 15 JACK Cleveland $1,110 Main Event with almost 16 full levels coming to completion.

The second of three flights drew 316 total entries, putting it on par with the venue record for most entries recorded in a Day 1b flight set this past February, and brought the two-day total thus far to 535, clipping the $500K GTD with one flight remaining.

Of those 316 entries, just 37 players remained when pens went to slips and Ray Ezzie found himself atop the counts with a whopping 1,168,000 good enough for the overall stack through the two starting flights.

Following hot on Ezzie’s tail was WSOP bracelet winner Joey Couden who put an impressive 961,000 on his slip to end the night while Anthony Hancovsky (579,000), Tim Berkey (492,000), and Farhad Guyuron (435,000) rounded out the top five stacks.

Much like Day 1a, the final level of the night saw an onslaught of casualties, with players such as WSOP bracelet winner Katie Kopp and MSPT champ Richard Bai among those to be eliminated before play concluded for the night with chips flying all across the remaining tables in the final level of play that led to a lot of players riding roller coasters with their stack sizes before becoming official for the evening.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five. Clinton Branchen (418,000), Matt Taylor (379,000), Henry Zou (169,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Aaron Massey (158,000), and Brad Sailor (85,000), are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 26 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

Among those not as lucky at the felt included Chad Stone, DJ Buckley, Thomas Carlin, MSPT champ's Gerald Cunniff & Lee Rzentkowski, and WSOP bracelet winner Satoshi Tanaka, with at least a few if not all of them likely to be seen back in action for the final flight.

The final starting flight for the Main Event is tomorrow starting at 12:15 p.m. EST.

Everyone who makes Day 2 will return on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. to play for the Season 15 MSPT $1,110 Main Event Title at JACK Cleveland Casino.

Congratulations to everyone who advanced to Day 2.

We will be back tomorrow for coverage of the Day 1c right here on MSPTPoker.com from Cleveland, Ohio!

Ezzie Trips Up Bai to go Over a Milly, Hand-for-Hand Begins
Created (8/17/2024 12:14:59 AM by Anthony Thompson)

There was a massive pot brewing between MSPT champ Richard Bai from the hijack and Ray Ezzie from the cutoff with a board showing.

With roughly 200,000 already in the middle, Bai check-called a 85,000 bet from Ezzie to see the complete the board on the river.

With three spades and a paired board, Bai checked his option once again only to be faced with an all-in bet from Ezzie.

The bet sent Bai deep into the tank after a good amount of time went by, he decided to call off his 250,000 stack.

Ezzie tabled for trip jacks which was good as Bai tossed into the muck and took his exit from the field beginning the hand-for-hand process.
