Christopher Mitchell Leads Final 43 Advancing Players After Day 1C

Day 1c of the MSPT JACK Cleveland $1,110 Main Event attracted another 361 runners, which, along with 1a's 237 and 1b’s 380, brought the field total up to 896 entries.

The massive field generated a $867,620 prize pool, and the top players will get paid a minimum of $1,800, while the eventual winner will walk away with a $163,623 first-place prize, along with the MSPT Season 15 JACK Cleveland Main Event title!

At the end of the final flight, just 43 players bagged and tagged with Christopher Mitchell bagging the top stack of 723,000, good enough for third overall heading into Day 2.

Following hot on Mitchell’s tail was Orville Arthurs Jr, who secured the final elimination of the night to take 639,000 into Day 2.

David Kenniston found new life on a different bullet and was able to bag 602,000 while MPST Hall of Famer Umut Ozturk (599,000), and Haikan Xu (598,000) rounded out the top five stack.

They were joined by Ashish Keshri (507,000), MSPT champ Richard Bai (442,000), Dan Wolf (339,000), WSOP bracelet winner Katie Kopp (277,000), two-time MSPT champ Ken Baime (155,000), and DJ Buckley (143,000).

Among previous MSPT Main Event champs who fell short one Day 1c included Lee Rzentkowski, Gerald Cunniff, and winner of February’s record-breaker Matthew Eng.

Day 2 will get underway at 11:15 a.m. local time and play to a winner with 106 players (26 from Day 1a, 37 from 1b, and 43 from 1c) returning to the felt.

Buck Bucceri raised from middle position and Orville Arthurs Jr defended his big blind to see a flop.

Arthurs Jr immediately moved a 200,000 bet sending Bucceri into the tank.

After a mean glare, Bucceri moved his 241,000 stack in the middle and was called.

Bucceri made the correct tough call, but was punished after the dealer dropped the on the turn, completing Arthurs Jr’s flush and then dropped the on the river for good measure.

MSPT Returns to Sycuan Casino for the Season 15 Showdown Series September 12th - 22nd!

For the third time this season, the MSPT returns to Sycuan Casino in San Diego, California, for the Showdown Series, September 12th - 22nd!

A total of 15 trophy events will take place during the two-week span, which includes a $360 NLH Mystery Bounty ($100K GTD) during the opening weekend (September 12th - 15th).

The series will run into the headlined $1,110 Main Event running from Thursday, September 19th through Sunday, September 22nd, and will feature a $300K guarantee for its three starting flights.

The start of the New Year saw the MSPT crown Savo Mandarapa the first champ of Season 15 after he outlasted 451 runners to take home a $93,771 score while Noel Eicher became the defending champ after he ran through 313 runners in May enroute to a $61,693 payday.

Who will be next to add their name to the Season 15 winner list? The MSPT live reporting crew will be on hand to provide live updates as the answer to that question is determined.

The MSPT returned to JACK Cleveland Casino and hosted a $300 NLH Seniors Event that saw 255 entries build a $61,200 prize pool that paid out to the top 27 seniors.

Among those to cash but fall before the final table were Odeh Wahdan (10th Place - $1,100), Todd Mcfeeler (13th Place - $915), Jason Kilby (16th Place - $785), Jay Merchant (21st Place - $670), and defending champ Bryant Madison (26th Place - $510).

Coming out the top was Rabih Mahdessi, who took home the top prize and the MSPT Sapdey trophy!
