Matt Genebacher Leads 15 Survivors After Day 1B
Created (12/7/2024 4:50:24 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Another full day of action occurred during Day 1b the MSPT Season 15 $1,110 Hollywood Casino Main Event with the hard stop being reached in Level 15 with 10:10 remaining on the clock.

The second of three flights drew 140 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 207, solidifying that the $300K GTD will be surpassed in tomorrow’s final flight.

Of those 140 entries, only 15 players remained when chips went into bags with Matt Genebacher sky rocketing to the top of the chip counts after he coolered Brandon Butler in an aces versus kings hand to take 561,000 into Day 2.

Newly crowned MSPT champ Timothy Thorp was a late arrival, but that didn’t stop him from building a 453,000 stack which was good enough for second overall this flight.

Rounding out the top five stacks were Mark Lafata (417,000), Josh Wisdom (341,000), and Brian Ellebracht (294,000), while Brad Sailor (277,000), MSPT champ Keith Heine (219,000), and inaugural MSPT Hollywood St. Louis champ Umut Ozturk (217,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the seven to have already advanced from Day 1a.

The final starting flight will get underway tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.

Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 10:40 p.m.).

Everyone who makes Day 2 will return on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. to play for the MSPT $1,110 Main Event Title at the Hollywood Casino Hotel.

Congratulations to everyone who advanced to Day 2.

We will be back tomorrow for coverage of Day 1c on MSPTPoker.com from St. Louis!
