Andrew Ernstein Bags Top Stack to Lead Seven Survivors After Day 1A of Main Event

A lengthy day of 15 levels has wrapped up during Day 1a the MSPT $1,110 Main Event at Ameristar Casino Hotel with 7 of 61 entries making it through to Day 2.

Once the hard stop was reached in the last level, only 28:14 remained when Andrew Ernstein put 589,000 in his bag to edge out Daniel Yoshiba (421,000) for the top spot to lead the seven advancing players.

Others to survive included Dejan Petrovic (241,000), Jeff Halcomb (191,000), Blake Borden (172,000), George Gallagher (145,000), and MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard (86,000) as they are the first players to punch their ticket into Monday’s Day 2.

Of course, not everyone was fortunate enough to make it through the night. Among those to fire and fall in Thursday’s flight were MSPT champ Dan Goepel, Brad Sailor, Dan Meyers, Greg Baird, and Hannah Richardson.

Those players, as well as any newcomers, have three more starting flights to jump back into action as Day 1b will be held tomorrow Friday May 23^rd, Day 1c on Saturday, May 24^th, and Day 1d on Sunday May 25^th with all flights starting at Noon.

All surviving players from the starting flights will then reconvene on Memorial Monday, May 26^th at 11:00 a.m. and will play to a winner.

Sean Beinecke Bubbles Day 1A

Sean Beinecke raised all in for 62,000 from middle position and George Gallagher went over the top for 71,000 from the small blind giving him isolation.

VanderWoude Misses Straight, Dropped by Halcomb

After Andrew Ernstein raised from middle position, Michael VanderWoude three-bet jammed for 27,000 from late position and Jeff Halcomb went over the top for 161,000 from the hijack giving him isolation.

VanderWoude was behind needing help, but none came on the flop.

The turn did give VanderWoude a glimmer of hope adding more outs with a two-way straight draw, but the paired the board on the river and ended his night.

Syed Hussain Tames the Monster Stack

For the first time season, the MSPT made its way to East Chicago, IN and players have been duking it out over the past week inside the Ameristar Casino for its 13-trophy event series!

In Event #4: $300 Hump Day Monster Stack NLH, 155 camelbacks took to the tables and created a $37,975 prize pool, reserved for the top 18 players.

Among those to take a piece of the prize pool but fall before the final table were Parmod Soni (10th Place - $722), Jeff Brown (11th Place - $722), MSPT champ Jeff Copeland (13th Place - $608), David Schultz (15th Place - $608), MSPT champ Matt Porter (17th Place - $532), and Greg Liss (18th Place - $532).

Humping their way to victory was Syed Hussain who was able to claim the lion's share of the prize pool along with the trophy!
