Harrison Genson Bags Top Stack as 12 Players Survive Day 1B
Created (5/23/2025 11:16:44 PM by Anthony Thompson)

Another full day of action occurred during Day 1b the MSPT Season 16 Ameristar East Chicago $1,110 Main Event with the hard stop being reached in Level 15 with 27:35 remaining on the clock.

Day 1b drew 101 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 162, with two more starting flights still on the schedule.

Of those 101 entries today, just 12 players remained when chips went into bags with Harrison Genson holding on to the top spot as his 476,000 stack was good enough to edge out David Araiza (380,00), and MSPT champ Jeff Copeland (380,000) for the top stack this flight.

David Araiza

Much like Day 1a, the final level of the night saw an onslaught of casualties, with players such as MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz and Shiva Dudani among those to be eliminated before play concluded for the night with chips flying all across the two remaining tables in the final levels of play that led to a lot of players riding roller coasters with their stack sizes before becoming official for the evening.

MSPT Champ Chris Audrain

Brad Sailor (362,000), and Steve W (340,000) rounded out the top five stacks while WSOP bracelet winner William Givens (307,000), Justin Gutierrez (183,000), MSPT champ Chris Audrain (142,000) and Ryan Scully (118,000), are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the seven to have already advanced from Day 1a.

MSPT Champ Mike O’Neill

Among those not as lucky at the felt included MSPT champ Mike O’Neill, Bryan Skreens, Kirstin Ives, Nino Papava, Andy Rogowski, and Gerald Siemienas with at least a few if not all of them likely to be seen back in action.

Gerald Siemienas

Those players, as well as any newcomers, have two more starting flights to jump back into action with Day 1c starting tomorrow Saturday, May 24th with a Noon start time and Day 1d will be held at the same time on Sunday May 25th.

Everyone who makes Day 2 will return on Memorial Monday at 11:00 a.m. to play for the MSPT $1,110 Main Event Title at Ameristar Casino Hotel.

Congratulations to everyone who advanced to Day 2.

We will be back tomorrow for coverage of Day 1c on MSPTPoker.com from East Chicago!

Thiel was racing for his tournament life and the flop that fell improved Genson to a set of sevens while also keeping him a gut shot straight draw.

Sailor Calls Correctly with Jacks
Created (5/23/2025 9:50:09 PM by Anthony Thompson)

Brad Sailor opened for 8,000 from middle position and was called by MSPT champ Chris Audrain from the button before David Araiza tossed out a 18,000 three-bet from the small blind.

Only Sailor called, and the two went heads-up to a flop.

Araiza led out with a 12,000 continuation bet and Sailor called bringing the turn.

A 14,000 bet was then tossed into the middle by Araiza and again was met with a call from Sailor.

Once the completed the board on the river, Araiza fired out one final 28,000 bet and was called.

“I missed”, Araiza said as he tabled and Sailor was happy to table to collect the pot.
