Derek McMaster Leads 10 Survivors After Day 1A of Main Event
Created (11/3/2023 1:24:13 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Day 1a of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Riverside $1,110 Main Event is officially in the books with 84 total entries tallied by night's end.

After a hard stop was reached in Level 14 with 22:03 remaining, it was none other than MSPT champ and bracelet winner Derek McMaster who climbed to the top to put a respectable 602,000 into his bag to end the night, leading the 10 advancing players by a large margin.

McMaster started the day on a downward spiral but stuck to his game and went on a late-night elimination spree to bag the top stack.

Bagging second in chips is the defending champ Ben Pettinger who put 365,000 on his slip to end the night while Rich Wagner came in a close third with 333,000.

Rounding out the top five stacks were Colden Carlson (250,000), and Caleb Chamber (249,000), while MSPT champ Steve Federspiel (200,000), and Mike Estes (73,000) both punched their ticket into Sunday’s Day 2.

All players unable to find a Day 2 berth will have two more opportunities with Day 1b will getting underway at 3.00 p.m. tomorrow Friday, November 3rd.
