A lengthy day of 15 levels has wrapped up during the MSPT (Mid-States Poker Tour) $1,110 Main Event at Riverside Casino as the second of three flights drew 221 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 305, solidifying that the $300K GTD will be surpassed in tomorrow’s final flight.

Of those 221 entries, only 26 players remained when chips went into bags, and it was Mark Fink (806,000) who outdistanced himself from the rest to take the overall chip lead into Day 2 thus far.

Following behind Fink was MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz (715,000) who caught steam at the end of the night after receiving a massive double-up from Frank Lagodich late in the evening.

Rounding out the top five stacks were Steve Alonzo (624,000), Mike Bowersock (434,000), and Al Carpenter (401,000).

Much like Day 1a, the final levels of the night saw an onslaught of casualties, with players such as MSPT Hall of Famer Kou Vang and MSPT champ Lee Rzentkowski among those to be eliminated before play concluded for the night with chips flying all across the remaining tables.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five. DJ Buckley (366,000), MSPT Champ Ken Komberec (280,000), and MSPT Hall of Famer’s Josh Reichard (202,000), Rich Alsup (115,000) & Aaron Johnson (79,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 10 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

The final starting flight will get underway tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 11:40 p.m.).

MSPT Riverside Remaining Schedule

There was heads-up action between Frank Lagodich from middle position and MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz from the big blind with a completed board showing.

WazWaz was faced with an all-in bet from Lagodich and decided to call off hos 207,000 stack. Lagodich rolled over for ace-high but it was no good as WazWaz tabled to collect his double-up.

Lagodich was left short after the hand and was eliminated shortly after.

Sherry Hammers open-jammed 48,000 under the gun and the hijack called off their remaining 12,000 stack.

Hammers was ahead and the runout gave her trip aces to eliminate her opponent.

MSPT champ and bracelet winner Derek McMaster bagged a massive stack leading the 10 players who advanced from a 84-entry field after Day 1a and players who make it through today will join that group on Sunday, November 5th at 11:00 a.m. for Day 2.

George Pappas open-jammed his 42,000 stack in the middle from the hijack and Larry Wagner isolated from the small blind.

Wagner was ahead holding a made hand of kings, that was until the flop fell giving Pappas top two-pair.

The turn didn’t change a thing and the river secured Pappas his double-up.

Gabe Neighbors raised to 12,000 from middle position and then called Justin Coliny’s 57,000 three-bet jam from the button.

The player under the gun opened for 13,000 only to call Wes Cannon’s 38,000 three-bet jam from the cutoff.

Cannon had his opponent dominated and like seeing a king in the window on the flop that came with no hearts.

The turn was another great sight for Cannon as it left his opponent drawing dead to the river that secured his double-up.

A series of preflop raises led to Gabe Neighbors getting his 134,000 stack in the middle from the cutoff and Mike Bowersock looked him up from the hijack.

It was a race with nothing changing after the flop hit the felt.

The turn kept things interesting as it gave Bowersock the nut flush draw, but the completed the board on the river and secured Neighbors his double-up.
