Greg Collins Edges Out Shahar Biniaminov for Top Stack After 13 Players Survive Opening Flight
Created (7/26/2024 12:15:35 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Day 1a of The MSPT Season 15 Showdown Series $1,110 Main Event at Bally's Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado, has come to a close after seeing 125 entrants kick things off.

A hefty day of 16 levels were needed to hit the hard stop of 13 players being reached with 7:47 remaining in the final level.

Typically, judging the chip leader comes down to the wire, and that was just the case for Greg Collins (708,000) who edged out Shahar Biniaminov (701,000), for the top stack after the opening flight.

Jeremy “Woody” Wood showed up at his home turf with a vengeance looking to improve of his runner-up finish earlier this season as he’ll take 429,000 into Day 2 while Mamoon Rubayee (353,000), and Bob Schurer (352,000) rounded out the top five stacks.

Others to find a Day 2 berth include Davie Litt (327,000), WSOP bracelet winner Kevin Eyster (262,000), Thomas Fuller (239,000), and Bruce Carter (132,000).

Among those to try and fall on Day 1a included MSPT champ’s Beau Wilshire & Curtis Vierstraete, MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard, Vincent Moscati, and WSOP bracelet winner Rich Ali just to name a few.

Those players, as well as any newcomers, have two more starting flights to jump back into action. Day 1b will kick off at Noon local time Friday, while the third and final flight, Day 1c, will take place at the same time on Saturday.

The surviving players from each flight will then return at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.

Join us tomorrow as we continue to bring you all the action and eliminations straight from the tournament floor at Bally's Casino!
