The final flight of the MSPT $1,600 Poker Bowl at Venetian saw it’s completion today, with a total of 449 players coming out for their chance at an MSPT title. The guaranteed $500,000 prizepool was smashed as a total of 80 players were guaranteed a minimum cash of $2,877, with all eyes on the $184,797 first place prize.

On top of today’s chip counts is Ha Duoang who bagged 1,051,000. Duong is no stranger to tournaments, having cashed for nearly $300,000 in lifetime earnings according to The Hendon Mob. This sets to be his first cash with The MSPT and his chip stack being second overall sees a potentially huge payout for him.

Others that bagged included Bryan Piccioli (715,000) who possessed the chip lead throughout most of the day and Ankush Mandavia (644,000) who just yesterday came in fourth in the $1,100 MSPT Poker Bowl. He joins Rob WazWaz (272,000) and Rich Alsup (128,000) who also final tabled the $1,100. Craig Mason (528,000), Erick Lindgren (425,000) Camille Brown (153,000), Yulia Lisichkina (53,000), and ChipLeaderCoaching.com’s Alex Foxen (251,000) all look to win their first MSPT championship.

Not all were as fortunate today, as the most recent MSPT champion Zack Fuentes was unable to make another deep run. Others who joined him on the rail were many names of the game like Jeff Platt, Jason Somerville, Tony Dunst, Justin Saliba, Jake Daniels, and Ryan Leng. They will have the other stops the rest of the year to claim an MSPT trophy from 2023.

80 players have secured their way into Day 2, and play will resume tomorrow at 11 AM. Play will begin with blinds at 5,000/10,000 and a 10,000 ante with 29:05 left in Level 15. Play will continue as scheduled after this level until a winner is crowned.

Shorr Sends One Home On The Bubble

A player moved all in from the hijack for 123,000 and in the cutoff, Shannon Shorr called.

The board ran out and Shorr connected with the ace on the river to make aces-up and eliminated one final player for the night, just a few hands after he had been all in himself.

Condo Coolers Massey; Hand For Hand Begins

Ralph Massey raised to 16,000 from late position and in the cutoff, Alex Condon three-bet to 50,000. Action folded back to Massey who four-bet to 115,000, which saw Alex Condon move all in for 310,000 and Massey snap-called.

The board ran out which saw Condon flop and turn quads to crack Massey’s aces and eliminate him two short of the money.

With just one place remaining before bagging, players are now hand for hand.

Greenstein On The River For Waz

Rob WazWaz raised to 20,000 from middle position and was called by two players in later position. In the small blind, a player moved all in for 150,000 and WazWaz moved all in to isolate while the other players folded.

The board ran out and on the river, WazWaz spiked an ace to win the pot. “Greenstein on the river,” exclaimed WazWaz after winning the hand.

Brown Doubles With Kings

Reg Powell raised to 16,000 in the cutoff and on the button another player three bet to 41,000. In the small blind, Camille Brown moved all in for 75,000 which saw only the button call.

The board ran out and the kings held up despite the numerous draw that appeared on the turn, giving Brown the double up.

Lindgren Hero Calls Conniff For Chip Lead

Asher Conniff opened to 12,000 from early position which saw Erick Lindgren defend the big blind.

The flop came out and Lindgren check-called a bet of 15,000 from Conniff.

The turn of saw Lindgren check once more and Conniff sized up to 50,000 and Lindgren called once more.

The river saw Lindgren check a third time and bet 105,000 chips, leaving himself just 10,000 behind. Lindgren went into the tank, pondering his decision. After a bit he called and Coniff turned over for just a ten-high, while Lindgren turned over for a pair of threes and a missed flush draw. It was good and Lindgren took the overall tournament chip lead, while Coniff was left with less than two big blinds.

Foxen Knocks Out Wantman

Action was picked up with Alex Foxen having Matthew Wantman covered with action all in prior to the flop.
