Day 1c of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) JACK Cleveland $1,110 Main Event attracted another 539 runners, which, along with 1a's 237 and 1b’s 380, brought the field total up to 1,157 entries.
The 1,175 total tally was able to re-claim the top spot for most entries in a Major poker tournament in a Ohio casino, and the $1,119,820 prize pool that was generated went down in the history books as well.
At the end of the final flight, just 68 players bagged and tagged with Grigor Hakobyan bagging the top stack of 785,000, leading the charge into Day 2.
Following hot on Hakobyan’s tail were Kevin Kerchenski (715,000), & Matthew Eng (702,000), while MSPT champ Curtis Vierstraete (610,000), and Steven Caran (604,000) rounded out the top five stacks.
They were joined by MSPT Season 14 Player of the Year Umut Ozturk (461,000), MSPT champ’s Abdul Amer (432,000), & Richard Bai (331,000), AJ Rudolph (318,000), and Chad Stone (234,000).
Among previous MSPT Main Event champs who fell short one Day 1c included Dan Bekavac, Gerald Cunniff, and Ben Pettinger.
Day 2 will get underway at 11:15 a.m. local time and play to a winner with 146 players (30 from Day 1a, 48 from 1b, and 68 from 1c) returning to the felt.
The top 117 finishers will get paid at least $2,127, with the eventual winner walking away with a $204,427 first-place prize.
