Nazim Temiz Leads 30 Survivors After Day 1A of Main Event
Created (2/2/2024 2:05:25 AM by Anthony Thompson)

If anyone predicted that the Day 1a turnout at the MSPT Season 15 JACK Cleveland $1,110 Main Event was going to compete with the record-breaking field last February, they were right.

The first of three starting flights closed with 237 entries, breaking the previous record-setting 224 total entries on a Day 1a set last year.

After a full completion of 15 levels, just 30 players were able to find a Day 2 berth with Nazim Temiz (705,000) edging out Carter Kline (685,000) for the top spot.

Rounding out the top five stacks were Vinh Ho (544,000), Penny Banhidy (422,000), Joshua Couden and (393,000).

Others able to find a Day 2 berth were Andrew Shields (318,000), MSPT champ Chris Meyers (273,000), two-time MSPT champ Ken Baime (245,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz (202,000), MSPT champ Chris Moon (187,000), and defending champ Jonathan Lewis (76,000).

Among those to try and fall on 1a included MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup, MSPT champ Lee Rzentkowski, WSOP bracelet winner Katie Kopp, and last September’s runner-up Ray Ezzie.

Those players, as well as any newcomers, have two more starting flights to jump back in the action.

Day 1b will kick off at 12:15 p.m. local time on Friday, while the third and final flight, Day 1c, will take place at the same time on Saturday.

The surviving players from each flight will then return at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.

Join us tomorrow as we continue to bring you all the action and eliminations straight from the tournament floor of the JACK Cleveland Casino!
