Matt Foster Bags Top Stack After 14 Players Survive Day 1A
Created (8/2/2024 12:30:59 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Day 1a of the MSPT Season 15 $1,110 Main Event at Hollywood Casino has come to a close after seeing 133 entrants kick things off.

Almost a full day of action was played to completion with the hard stop of 14 players being reached with 2:44 remaining in Level 14.

The final levels were full of eliminations which and even after Matt Foster lost a big pot at the end of the night, he was still able to bag the chip lead with 472,000, edging out Brett Hagopian (425,000), and Mark Koeln (411,000) as they were the only other players to eclipse the 400k mark.

Two-time MSPT champ Chris Meyers was one of the last entries to sit down before registration closed, but he still managed to bag a top five stack with 389,000, while Mark Latafa (346,000), and Yang Xu (340,000) were the only others to find a Day 2 berth with over 300k.

Among those to try and fall on Day 1a included MSPT Hall of Famer’s Aaron Johnson & Josh Reichard, two-time MSPT champ Bobby Noel, along with MSPT champ’s Steve Federspiel & Lee Rzentkowski just to name a few.

Those players, as well as any newcomers, have two more starting flights to jump back into action. Day 1b will kick off at 2:00 p.m. local time Friday, while the third and final flight, Day 1c, will take place at the same time on Saturday.

The surviving players from each flight will then return at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.

Join us tomorrow as we continue to bring you all the action and eliminations straight from the tournament floor at Hollywood Casino!
