MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard Soars to the Top to Take Overall Chip Lead into Day 2

Day 1c of the MSPT Season 15 Hollywood Casino Main Event attracted 290 runners, which along with 1a's 133 and 1b’s 208 brought the total field up to 631 entries, shattering the $300k guarantee.

The massive field generated a $612,070 prize pool, and the top players will get paid a minimum of $2,170, while the eventual winner will walk away with a $125,604 first-place prize, along with the MSPT Season 15 Hollywood Casino Maine Event title!

At the end of the third and final flight, 31 players bagged and tagged with MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard bagging the overall chip lead after he started catching steam in the final levels to put a whopping 1,126,000 in his bag.

Another player to catch steam throughout the day was three-time MSPT champ Carl Carodenuto who was able run up an impressive 812,000 stack, which is good enough for second overall.

Others to bag big stacks where Dalton Jones (506,000), Ryne "Pyzza" Teston (487,000), and Paul Fehlig (470,000) who rounded out the top five.

They were joined by MSPT champ Frank Covich (388,000), Casey Blakely (347,000), Trey Bartlett (275,000), MSPT champ Keith Heine (254,000), along with Cedrric Trevino (145,000) & MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup (112,000).

The surviving players from all three flights – of which there are 67 (14 from Day 1a, 22 from 1b, and 31 from 1c) – will return at 11:00 a.m. local time on Sunday, August 4th to play down to a winner.

Action on the table folded to MSPT Hall of Famer Josh Reichard who raised all in from the small blind and the big blind called off their 39,000 stack.

Reichard was ahead holding a made hand of sixes until an ace appeared in the window on the flop.

The turn, however, fell the putting Reichard back in front with a set of sixes and the paired the board on the river improving him to a full house to burst the bubble.

Paul Fehlig raised to 16,000 from middle position only to have MSPT champ Keith Heine three-bet jam for 85,000 from the next seat over.

Only Lawrence Fenton looked him up from the hijack and the two players tabled their hands,

“Come on, hold one time”, Heine stood up and said just before the dealer peeled off a flop.

After the clean flop, the was turned giving Heine more of a sweat as it gave Fenton more outs with a Broadway draw, but the completed the board on the river and kept his Main Event hopes alive.

Action folded back to Scully who four-bet jammed and Reichard called off his 320,000 stack.

Dror Ucko open-jammed 110,000 under the gun and action folded to Dalton Jones who snap-called from the big blind.

Ucko was behind needing help but fell in a deeper hole after the flop gave Jones top set.

In Event #5: $300 Pot-Limit Omaha, 76 four-card specialists took to the tables, and in the end, it was Melissa Smith who claimed the top spot to take home her second Spadey trophy of the series!
